Job Summary:
The National Institute for Work and Learning (NIWL) โ housed within FHI360โs US Business Unit โ improves lives by building the capacity of and advancing work and learning outcomes for communities, workforce and education systems, and individuals. Services provided by NIWL include research and evaluation, technical assistance, capacity building, professional development training, resources and tool development, strategic planning and program development, and communications support.
The Project Manager reports to the NIWL Director of Strategic Initiatives and collaborates with the senior leadership to develop new business strategies and maintain the core operational functions for quality projects. This includes driving, coordinating, maintaining, and training on varied systems: project processes and procedures, quality assurance, compliance, and internal staff communications and program development for NIWL.
The Project Manager leads and coordinates proposal development across NIWL and coordinates the efforts of team members to ensure cohesive and coordinated work happens across the NIWL team. In partnership with project leads, the position will start up each new project, create a clearinghouse for NIWL projectโs objectives and oversee quality control and auditing deliverables throughout the completion of each projectโs life cycle, will share templates and resources with project managers to create work plans based on goals and targets, and identify opportunities and develop strategies and approaches for quality practice across NIWL.
Accountabilities:
Serve as day-to-day operations lead for staff. Provide consultation and connection to requested resources to ensure NIWLโs strategic plan is in action. Support the director and senior management team to update and implement the strategic plan and document the progress.
Liaise with the Business Development department, lead and support business development processes that increase the portfolio of work for the National Institute for Work and Learning
Supports the NIWL director and senior leadership to build, develop, and grow partnerships vital to the success of the department.
Leads proposal and project design efforts.
Participate in staff and team meetings to identify synergies and opportunities for growth across the portfolio to ensure effective communication and collaboration for programming and staff development.
Maintain and update knowledge management and onboarding materials for NIWL.
Serve as NIWL onboarding Champion, including securing new staffing materials, tools, and technology.
Standardize and maintain all NIWL knowledge artifacts, including filing systems, operating procedures and checklists.
Support directors and managers in systems and policy development
Establishes systems set up, compliance and monitoring for all projects.
Set up all new projects, lead new project kickoff meetings and ensure all compliance aspects are completed (vine, social impact reporting, safeguarding, contract close outs, deliverables tables and status checks)
Develop and share best practices and tools for project execution and management such as checklists and FHI data collection for all projects, and systems to track progress.
Coaches, mentors, and manages staff to ensure quality, efficiency, and compliance with project and company standards/policies.
Consult with the senior management team to collect data across NIWL to show progress toward the strategic plan, identify performance indicators for NIWL projects and synthesize themes and outcomes across all strategic areas.
Cultivate strategic partnerships and implements processes to enhance communication, efficiency, and the success of the National Institute for Work and Learning

Education:
Bachelor's Degree or its International Equivalent in Business Administration, Communication, Economic Development, Education, the Environment, Gender, Research, Technology and Youth or a Related Fields. โ
Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification preferred.
Experience:
Typically requires a minimum of 8+ years of relevant experience with projects management principles and practices, organizational development, creating processes and tracking to manage outcomes, coordinating teams to manage performance.
Prior work experience in a non-governmental organization (NGO), government agency, or private organization.
International or domestic (US) program development or project management preferred.
Prior experience developing partnerships and developing business for a portfolio.

The expected hiring salary range for this role is listed below. FHI 360 pay ranges represent national averages that vary by geographic location. When determining an offer amount, FHI 360 factors in multiple considerations, including but not limited to: relevant years of experience and education possessed by the applicant, internal equity, business sector, and budget.
Base salary is only one component of our offer. FHI 360 contributes 12% of monthly base pay to a money purchase pension plan account. Additionally, all US based staff working full-time, which is calculated at 40 hours/week, receive 18 days of paid vacation per year, 12 sick days per year, and 11 holidays per year. Paid time off is reduced pro rata for employees working less than a full-time schedule.
Hiring Salary Range: $80,000 - $130,000
