We are currently seeking qualified candidates for the position of Health System Strengthening Technical Advisor / Deputy Chief of Party for an upcoming opportunity in the Philippines. This position is contingent upon award and will be based in Manila, Philippines.
Project Description:
The anticipated TB-centred Health Systems Strengthening Project will support the Philippineโs Department of Health (DoH) to realize a high-performing and resilient health system that improves and sustains progress additional to mitigating the deleterious health and economic effects of infectious disease outbreaks.
Position Description:
The Health System Strengthening Technical Advisor / Deputy Chief of Party will provide activity oversight and technical support to ensure quality implementation of the activity across all health system strengthening components. S/he will support the Chief of Party (COP) in strategic and annual work planning, management, and monitoring of project operations and key deliverables and liaise with relevant stakeholders from different sectors.
This may include (but not be limited to) accountability for the activities health system strengthening components; activity alignment to government health strategies, plans and priorities; thought leadership on national quality improvement and quality assurance initiatives and informing/supporting approaches to supporting the roll-out of government health policies.
Minimum Requirements:
- Masterโs degree or its international equivalent or higher in public health or a related area.
- Minimum 8 years of professional experience in public health, particularly leading and designing health programs (Tuberculosis); experience with key stakeholders in Philippines;
- At least 5 years of professional experience in project management and leadership, including experience managing USAID projects and staff;
- Proven experience working with government officials, particularly MoH supporting strategy development, implementation planning and decision making;
- Demonstrated cutting edge expertise and familiarity with the latest global thinking and evidence
- Prior work experience in relevant organizations (such as similar NGOs, development partners or government agencies)
- Strong interpersonal, writing, and oral presentation skills in English
- Ability to work well in teams, including negotiation, influencing, and collaboration skills
- Ability to transfer knowledge/skills and work well with others, including local and foreign colleagues, implementing agency and government staff
