Organizational Setting and Reporting Relationship
The position of Senior Treasury Assistant is assigned to the Treasury Services Division within the Treasury Department. You will be based at our Resident Mission Office in Bangkok, Thailand.
You will report to designated International Staff and senior National Staff.
Your Role
As a Senior Treasury Assistant, you will: undertake a variety of Treasury related analytical, technical, administrative support roles and provide vital operational support in TDโs business continuity activities at the Treasury Regional Hub. This position will contribute to strengthening ADBโs ability to transform into a resilient organization.
You will:
Cash Operations
โข Assist in the daily monitoring and management of cash flows to ensure availability for ADBโs operations and meet its financial obligations. This includes all currencies used for ADB operations with a focus on local currency operations.
โข Assist in collecting loan services payments, donorsโ contributions, and shareholders subscriptions from ADBโs member countries.Cash Flow Projection Reports
โข Prepare data and information related to the planning and projection of ADB's short-term and medium-term funds flow of major currencies: historical data of cash transactions and future cash flow items.
โข Monitor actual cash inflows and outflows to determine variances in cash position versus projections and make necessary adjustments to cash projections with a focus on local currency operations.
โข Actively contribute to the cross departmental Thematic Bonds working group by providing data used in the cash reports facilitating the tracking of the initiative.
โข Develop and propose initiatives to rationalize cash flow data acquisition and cleaning.Cash management environmentโs support
โข Assist in gathering data and preparing environments used to build cash flow reports in all currencies ADB uses.
โข Help maintain and upgrade the Tableau dashboards developed by the cash management team to support their cash management functions.Others
โข Performs activities in support of ADBโs Organizational Resilience.
โข Perform other duties as required and reflected in the incumbentโs work plan.Qualifications
You will need:
โข Bachelorโs degree in accounting, finance, business administration or other related disciplines. Alternatively, university degree in related fields combined with additional relevant experience can be considered.
โข At least 5 years of relevant professional experience, preferably in cash management.
โข Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
โข Proven competency in Microsoft Excel and in at least one of the leading Business Intelligence tools (Tableau Software, Power BI, Qlik View, etc.).
โข Adequate knowledge of treasury operations (payments processing and collection of funds), investment operations (money placements, currency yield and withdrawals) and funding operations (swap arrangements, borrowings, and redemptions).
โข Understanding of the interactions between Treasury and other work areas.
โข Solid numerical ability; attention to details.
โข Proven ability to work independently and set own work priorities; resourceful and innovative.

Staff on probation are not eligible to apply. Applicants for promotion must have served at their position for at least one year and must have normally served at their personal level for at least two years immediately preceding the date of the vacancy closing date. Applicants for lateral transfer must have served at their position and personal level for at least one year immediately preceding the date of the vacancy closing date (reference A.O. 2.03, paragraphs 5.8 and 5.9).
This position is for outposting to Thailand Resident Mission (TRM)] and is open to internal and external applicants. If you are an external candidate, you may initially be based in HQ before being outposted. If you are an internal candidate, the outposting will be immediate.
This opening is a local staff position. It is open only to nationals and residents of Thailand.
This is a fixed term appointment with option to renew for an initial period of three (3) years following Section 3.1 (b) of Administrative Order No. 2.01 (โRecruitment and Appointmentโ). This appointment is not convertible to a regular appointment. It may be extended on an exceptional basis for a further fixed period at the option of ADB. This appointment is open to internal and external applicants.
