Due to expansion in our funded Domestic and Family Violence programs we are looking for a Team Leader to join our Domestic and Family Violence, Sexual Assault services in the Mt Isa/Gulf region.
Are you passionate about making communities safer for women and their children? As a Team Leader within our Domestic and Family Violence programs we can offer you an opportunity to work across regional and remote sites throughout northwest Queensland and the lower Gulf. We are looking for an experienced leader, committed to staff development, community engagement and who enjoys collaborating to make a real difference to communities.

Where you come in:
In this full-time permanent position (based in Mount Isa) youโll inspire a dedicated team to accomplish ambitious goals for the Domestic/Family Violence and Sexual Assault Services.
As a leader, youโll contribute to strategies that enhance safety and reduce future risk of experiences of violence through the teamโs counselling and case management support for aggrieved adults, children and young people. Youโll be part of our Queensland Programs team and report to the Regional Manager.

Leading, developing and motivating a dedicated and driven team Supporting and monitoring the programs to ensure we meet targets Provide evidence-based risk assessment to all referrals received Building relationships with the local community Actively assisting staff to develop case plans, safety plans and providing feedback regularly Collaborating with internal and external stakeholdersDoes this sound like you?
Youโre an enthusiastic and committed leader who understands that childrenโs right to safety, survival, development and participation is core to the way we work. Youโre active, creative and flexible in your approach to working with families and children, using a trauma-informed, strengths-based and culturally sensitive framework within communities working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people. You can develop and maintain partnerships with external organisations at all levels, and you can supervise, coach and mentor others with an empathetic approach.
Experience in conducting safety and risk assessments for DFV and sexual violence Proven leadership skills and the ability to build a cohesive and high performing team Experience in building strong networks and partnerships in community Commitment to culturally safe work practices and understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities Ability to develop, implement, monitor and evaluate activities Ability to manage competing priorities and de-escalate complex scenarios Current valid driverโs licence
