Are you passionate about community-based resource management and climate resilience? Vanuatuโs largest climate adaptation project is seeking a skilled and flexible consultant to support fisheries and water sector activities across six provinces.

The role provides operational and programme quality support to the Fisheries and Water Sector Leads and the Project Management Unit (PMU) with developing Community Fisheries Management Plans, Community Water Resource Management Plans, and community awareness initiatives including This is a 12-month consultancy with the possibility of extension depending on requirements and performance. You will work closely with the VCCRP Project Management Unit (PMU) and Sector Leads.
You will make an impact by:
Collating, verifying, and inputting data into Community Fisheries Management Plans and Community Water Resource Management Plans. Support with progressing management plans for relevant approvals, revisions, and sharing back to communities. Assisting in designing and producing awareness materials (including community billboards) to support community led adaptation. Provide operational and logistical support to fisheries and water field missions. Updating monitoring and tracking tools for Community Management Plans. GIS mapping of conservation areas to support community resource management plans. Flexibility will be required to support the work of both sectorsThis role requires:
Knowledge and experience in fisheries and/or water resource management. Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry. Ability to work collaboratively with technical teams and communities. Experience in developing community engagement and awareness resources. Familiarity with climate resilience and adaptation concepts. Experience with GIS mapping software. Flexibility to work across two sectorsAdditional Requirements:
Open to applicants based in Vanuatu with the right to work (no visa provided). Regular domestic travel required to remote and rural locations. Fluent in Bislama. Working with Children Check and Police ClearanceSounds interesting?
