THE IMPACT YOU WILL MAKE:
Reporting to the Sr. Manager, People & Culture, the People & Culture, Projects & Business Partner is a dual portfolio role that intersects support for two service portfolios. This role delivers Human Resources Management duties as a P&C Business Partner for the People & Culture (P&C) team portfolio, along with strategic business transformation project management related to the business operations side of the business. Business operations includes risk management, strategy, travel and other org wide corporate areas. HR accountabilities include proactively supporting a HR Business Partnership model by delivering data-informed HR advisory to leaders on workforce planning, talent management, employee engagement, compliance, learning & development, compensation & benefits, and labour relations. Business Operations project accountabilities focus on project management, change management, strategic planning coordination and monitoring, accreditation process coordination, and facility project management. Manages projects to transform how SCC operates, focusing on integrating people, process, and technology to achieve organizational goals, taking into consideration psychological safety and diversity principles in all activities. This individual contributor role requires both HR expertise and project management expertise to manage this blended portfolio.

Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
Core People & Culture Responsibilities (70%):ย all tasks below are performed with direction and guidance from more Senior P&C staff.
Business Partnership:ย Deliver data-informed and inclusive HR advisory, workforce planning, recruitment, onboarding and offboarding, people data reporting tailored to assigned client groups.ย Handle performance management, employee relations including conflict resolution for assigned client groups. ย Coach and motivate assigned people leaders to ensure high performance and quality service. Build strong relationships with interest holders. Collaborate with client groups to understand their needs and deliver quality outcomes.ย Assist with the development and implementation of HR strategies aligned with SCC overall strategic plan. Participate actively in strategic planning, problem-solving, and conflict resolution.ย Support change management efforts, guiding leaders and employees through transitions and new processes. Collaborate with leadership to enhance internal communication, fostering open and transparent dialogue.People Project Management: Lead assigned people projects for P&C applying full project management protocols, communication, change management and reporting.ย Learning & Development: Assess, develop, coordinate and facilitate org-wide employee training programs and professional development initiatives. This includes leadership development, career development and succession planning program development.Labour Relations & Compliance: Act as a central org-wide liaison between employees and management, address concerns, and support strategic people processes and decisions in a setting where half of the workforce is unionized. ย Ensure adherence to employment legislation, the Collective Agreement and SCC policies. Supports compensation & benefits.Employee Engagement: Lead and monitor employee engagement programs org-wide for a great employee experience through each part of the employee lifecycle for retention.Core Business Operations Project Responsibilities (up to 30%):ย All special projects and tasks are performed with guidance from an assigned Executive Team (ET) member.
Project management: Lead all aspects of a project lifecycle, from planning and execution to monitoring, delivery and evaluation for the transformation portfolio with direction and guidance from the assigned ET member. Develop project plans in collaboration with stakeholders.ย Delivers functional leadership by managing a project team, timelines, resources, and budgets to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget. Track progress, manage risks, and provide regular updates to interest holders. Own all project communication.Collaborate with subject matter experts (e.g., finance, IT, operations, P&C, resource development) to meet project needs.Change management: Supports Business Operations by helping to ensure transformation initiatives are adopted successfully with change management principles incorporated with guidance from the assigned ET member. Develop and execute change management strategies, including communication, training, and transition plans.Help employees and leaders embrace and adapt to new processes, programs, and a changing culture. Monitor change adoption.Strategic planning: Coordinate and supports SCCโs strategic planning process and results. Support related reporting of strategic priorities with task direction and guidance from the assigned ET member.Policy Management & Accreditation Coordination: Coordinate and implement process for all new and existing policies and procedures across the organization with the Leadership Team. Coordinate all accreditation processes e.g. Imagine Canada.Potential Projects:
