The NORCAP HSS Manager serves as the lead technical resource on health, safety and security risks and crisis management. Your expertise will be critical in ensuring the safety and well-being of our staff working in complex environments around the world. You will provide advice and guidance to NORCAP Management and staff on HSS policy, procedures, and best practices.ย 

To fulfil these crucial responsibilities, the ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in the following core areas:ย 

Monitor the general security situation and identify potential security risks impacting NORCAP.ย Review and provide feedback on all HSS products (plans, reports, agreements, risk assessments etc.)ย Ensure NORCAP compliance with HSS regulationsย Provide HSS briefings and security and crisis management training to NORCAP employeesย Advise and guide on security and duty of care to NORCAP teams during project stagesย Ensure quality and compliance of due diligence assessmentsย Coordinate the NORCAP Crisis Management Team and serve as main liaison with the International SOSย Maintain and develop NORCAP's security and duty-of-care policies, procedures and plansย  Conduct field risk assessments and liaise with security providersย 

To effectively deliver on these essential duties, a successful candidate will possess a unique blend of experience and qualifications, including:ย 

Minimum 7 years of experience as a HSS Manager in a humanitarian/recovery contextย Considerable experience in High and extreme Risk environments (minimum 2 years)ย Demonstrated experience as a trainerย Professional qualifications or studies in general management, HSS and/or risk managementย Experience with management of critical incidents and crisesย Fluency in English, both written and verbalย  You are encouraged to read the full Terms of Reference for more detail.
