Position:ย Human Resources Assistant (1 position available)

Location:ย You will be working on a โ€œhybridโ€ basis. ย You will be working remotely mostly from home, but will be required to work at our Toronto office with reasonable notice. ย 

Hours:ย Full time, 35 hours per week, 7 hours per day, generally carried out Monday-Friday 9-5 with occasional work to be conducted early mornings, evenings and/or weekends. ย 

Hourly Rate:ย $15.50 per hour

Duration: 8 weeks/35 hours per week (June 26 to August 21, 2023) ย

Duties and responsibilities:ย 

The Human Resources Intern will provide assistance to Save the Children Canadaโ€™s HR team including but not necessarily limited to the following actions:

Supporting HR team with job posting and other recruitment documents.ย Supporting HR team and hiring managers in setting up interview invitations.Reviewing and streamlining organizationโ€™s policies templates.ย Supporting the onboarding and offboarding administrative procedures with the different stakeholders.ย Supporting HR team with reference checks for selected candidates.Supporting HR team with updating ADP archives, and ensuring all updated documents are uploaded.ย 

Requirements:ย 

Home based internet connection required.Will be required to work at our Toronto office, time to time, with reasonable notice. ย As per the Canada Summer Jobs programs, eligible candidates must: Between 15 and 30 years of age at the beginning of the employment period.Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act for the duration of the employment.Have a valid Social Insurance Number at the start of employment and be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial or territorial legislation and regulations.Completion of high school is required.ย Post-secondary education in the field of Human Resources is a strong asset.ย Strong writing and analytical skills. Good interpersonal and communications skills, thrives in a multicultural environment.ย Proficient with Microsoft Office suite of tools; Powerpoint, Sharepoint, Teams and Excel.
