Where you come in:

Reporting to the Regional Director of Pacific Program Development and Quality, you will be part of the Pacific team, and provide strategic and technical advice, leadership and guidance on our health and nutrition portfolio in the Pacific. You will be based in our Port Moresby Country Office and have overall responsibility for the direction and coordination of the health and nutrition program in PNG, and also work at the regional level providing technical direction to new opportunities and current programmes.

You will make an impact by:

Leading our Pacific Regional Strategy to eliminate childhood malnutrition. Growing and strengthening the health & nutrition portfolio. Providing technical guidance to support the implementation of high-quality health and nutrition programs across the region. Representing Save the Children in PNG and regional health & nutrition community engagement including with governments, donors, partners, I/NGOs and CSOs., including coordinating with national nutrition initiatives and partners. Advising on advocacy initiatives designed to promote health and nutrition objectives across the Pacific region.

You are currently PNG-based, or a Pacific national with current work rights in PNG and are willing to relocate to Port Moresby for the role. You are a leader in the health and nutrition field in the Pacific context. Your experience has seen you contribute to transformative program design, implementation and monitoring. Your outstanding communication skills, flexibility and resilience will see you achieve great outcomes for vulnerable children whilst working with multiple teams and stakeholders.

This role requires:

7+ years of professional experience in health & nutrition program design and implementation including maternal child health and nutrition in PNG and the Pacific Advanced knowledge of PNG and Pacific national health & nutrition stakeholder community, including government health priorities and processes, institutions and networks. Advanced understanding of the Pacific health sector especially working with national and provincial health authorities Experience managing large, complex health and nutrition programs in PNG and/or the Pacific with multiple stakeholders and implementing partners Experience in coordinating maternal child health and nutrition programs with national and provincial health authorities, NGOs, UN Agencies, institutions and development partners involved in maternal child health and nutrition programs.
