Resource Mobilization Coordinator-Country Office
Reporting to the Business Development Manager (BDM), the Resource Mobilization Coordinator will be responsible for providing specialist guidance and support on grant acquisition activities in line with the approved Country Strategy.
Accountabilities
Donor Mapping and Relationship Building
- Support the Business Development Manager in mapping out the donor landscape and building relationships with current and potential donors.
- Undertake the donor mapping exercise and update various sections bi annually.
- Conduct research to determine the interests of current and prospective donors and to identify new sources of institutional giving that are aligned with PIZ's priorities.
- Provide support in proactively building relationships with current and potential donors and National Offices; help to organise and coordinate on a schedule of communications, discussions and visits.
- Keep abreast of fundraising initiatives of National Offices i.e take initiative to provide relevant support and information, and scan for opportunities to submit proposals
- Maintaining good relations with bi-lateral and multi-lateral donor agencies, corporations and potential private funding sources both in country and abroad.
- Promotes Plan's image in different grant related forums. Donor visits are effectively facilitated and portray a positive image and result in on-going financial support.
Research and Data Collection
- Support the development and updating of key documents and research that are routinely required for proposal development in Zimbabwe.
- Liaise with the BDM and with other team members who are experienced in fundraising to identify commonly required information, organisational statements, and supporting documentation, including compliance requirements.
- Liaise with colleagues to develop, and keep updated, a central repository of useful information and proposal-writing resources.
- Research and update pertinent statistical data indicators, sectoral studies, governmental and non-governmental strategic recovery plans.
- Undertake field research as necessary, including supporting development of tools and administration of tools, data analysis and final assessment reports that will inform proposal/project development.
- Draft capacity statements and value propositions as required.
Proposal Writing and Project Initiation
- Work collaboratively with the BDM and with Program/PA Teams to develop, and secure funding to meet the FY budget projections.
- Ensure full understanding of Donor requirements (e.g. as articulated in the Terms of Reference or other documentation).
- Support the design and submission of expressions of interests, concept notes, and detailed proposals; ensuring that high quality written work is presented to the Business Development Manager on time and to standard.
- Collaborate closely with the Finance teams for Budgeting & Reporting and with NOs to prepare competitive proposal budgets in established formats meeting donor requirements, ensuring support costs are fully represented as per approved CO ratios.
- Support the effective handover of the new projects to the Programme Implementation team; ensuring that they fully understand the goals and targets of the project.
- Maintain and update the funding portfolio keeping track of both existing funding and the pipeline.
Partnerships
- Coordinate the partnership portfolio, including identification of new partners and retention of old partners, leading the partner due diligence process and engaging partners on the development of partnership agreements with clear alignment to donor requirements.
- Develop and manage partnerships and purposeful relationships with NOs, partner organisations, Government, and other stakeholders.
- Participate in quarterly/annual meetings with implementation partners to discuss emerging compliance risks/issues in the implementation of funded projects.
- Support capacity development of partners in Planโs administrative and operational procedures and policies, as well as applicable donor regulations; and ensure compliance with Plan and donor financial policies and procedures.
Safeguarding, Gender Equality and Inclusion
Ensures that Plan Internationalโs global policies for Safeguarding Children and Young People and Gender Equality and Inclusion are fully embedded in accordance with the principles and requirements of the policy including relevant Implementation Standards and Guidelines as applicable to their area of responsibility. This includes, but is not limited to ensuring staff and associates are aware of and understand their responsibilities under these policies and Plan Internationalโs Code of Conduct (CoC), their relevance to their area of work, and that concerns are reported and managed in accordance with the appropriate procedures.
Knowledge
- Bachelor degree in international relations, development studies or similar relevant to the position.
- A minimum of 3 to 5 yearsโ experience in development work.
- Knowledge and proven track record in grant acquisition and donor relationship management (from study, training and practical experience).
- Excellent networking and partnership building skills.
- Able to work in a team environment, pitch in attitude a must.
- Knowledge of child rights-based approach to programming.
