NRC is looking for a Protection Cluster Co-Coordinatorย to join the Afghanistan mission. The role holder is responsible for coordinating the Afghanistan Protection Cluster and ensuring a predictable, accountable, and reasonable protection response in Afghanistan. He/she will strengthen Protection, through the coordination of the Afghanistan Protection Cluster (as part of the wider humanitarian response and the UN-led coordination system). The Co-Coordinator will be a strong representative for the interests of crisis-affected communities and a voice in the Cluster for International and National NGOs.

What You Will Do

Co-facilitation of the Afghanistan Protection Cluster. Facilitate and co-chair meetings of the national Protection Cluster. Information exchange related to protection issues, situation analysis, gaps, planning, and funding. Support and guidance on needs assessments, coordination, project development and implementation, and funding opportunities. Monitoring, reporting, and analysis for the Protection Cluster. Capacity-building, guidance and facilitate trainings and workshops for cluster partners and relevant counterparts.ย

Protectionย experience in a humanitarian emergency context. Protection in emergency and displacement, humanitarian principles, humanitarian assistance, and international legal frameworks knowledge and understanding. Protection cluster coordination track record. Afghanistan context and humanitarian community responseย knowledge and experience. High risk, insecure, opaque, complex, and volatile context exposure. English fluency, both written and verbal.

What We Offer

Kabul, Afghanistanย duty station. 12-month contract duration (renewable, subjecting to funding and need). 25% travel, approximately. Grade 9ย in NRCโ€™s Salary Scale.
