What we are looking for

What you will do

The primary responsibility of the Shelter and Wash Project Manager is to manage and ensure the successful, high-quality, and cost-effective implementation of the assigned Shelter and Wash portfolios across the designated geographical region under the management of the Area Manager.ย 

ย 

This management role extends to direct supervision of project staff, administration of all associated budgets, and full management of donor grants, encompassing both proposal development and mandatory reporting.

What you will do

Contribute to the development of Country, Area, and programme strategies; initiate and participate in the development of relevant Shelter and Wash projects.

Manage and monitor the Shelter and WASH programs to ensure their successful implementation in line with approved strategies, proposals, and donor mandates.ย 

Implement technical direction and ensure high technical quality of projects.

Line manage and develop NRC Shelter & WASH project staff in Bekaa and ensure capacity building of project staff and transfer of key skills.

Provide regular progress reports to management and concerned parties.

Represent Shelter and WASH in internal and external forums in the area as required and liaise with relevant local authorities and other key stakeholders as needed, ensuring that strategic representation is escalated to the Area Manager when required.

Oversee and is responsible of mainstreaming protection guidelines in the NRCโ€™s related activities as per NRCโ€™s Protection mainstreaming guidelines and ensure that all breaches/concerns reported are properly resolved.

Collaborate and work with the other core competency teams (Information, Counselling and Legal Assistane (ICLA) and Education) on joint-programming, multi-sectorial community response and Neighborhood Profiling.

Ensure most vulnerable refugees are targeted by the Programme,ย taking into account people with special needs, gender, and protection issues.

Promote the rights of refugees and explore and assess new and better ways to assist in line with the advocacy strategy.

Represent NRC in relevant forums/sectors, at the area level related to shelter & emergency response.

What you will bring

Bachelorโ€™s degree in Civil, Hydraulic, Environmental Engineering or Public Health and or other relevant field.

Minimum 4 years of managerial and/or senior technical experience in WASH/Shelter or similar roles in a humanitarian/recovery, complex and volatile contexts.

Experience in coordination and advocacy as well as in humanitarian and developmental responses in urban displacement.

Proficiency in integrated settlement-based programming.

Good knowledge of the Lebanon context.

Fluency in Arabic and English, both written and spoken.

What we offer

Duty station:ย Zahle, Bekaa.

Contract:ย 12 months Fixed term, renewable based on performance, funding, and need for the position.

Travel:ย 30% within the area.

Salary/benefits: grade 8 on NRCโ€™s national salary scale, with accompanying terms and conditions.
