Position Title: Project Lead, Community Engagement & Advocacy (North Carolina), PIH-US

Reports to: Director, North Carolina, PIH-US

Location: North Carolina (required), with travel throughout the state several days per month (<20%)

Position Type: Full-time (may include evenings)

PIH-US accompanies visionary public health and community partners working to build strong, integrated, community-led health systems across the U.S. PIH-US currently supports local health departments, health providers, elected officials, and community leaders to define clear health and racial equity agendas, and provides technical advising and operational support to deliver on those commitments. Our current focus communities include: Alabama; Chicago, Illinois; Immokalee, Florida; Newark, New Jersey; New Bedford, Massachusetts; North Carolina; and Pima County, Arizona. We capture learnings from across this network to mobilize resources, advance policy change, and lay the groundwork for stronger community health systems nationally.

Position Overview:

The Project Lead will join the PIH-US North Carolina team to lead advocacy and community engagement efforts in support of technical advising and implementation accompaniment efforts at the state and local levels. Complementing PIH-US public sector accompaniment, the Project Lead will oversee strategy and implementation of advocacy efforts to advance policies that deepen investment in the community health workforce, empower community-based organizations to tackle today鈥檚 biggest issues, and strengthen local public health and health systems in North Carolina. The Project Lead will additionally lead PIH-US North Carolina community engagement efforts including statewide, regional, and local partnerships with the goal of ensuring community partners have the resources, relationships, and power necessary to identify, respond to, and meet the needs of the communities they serve. To achieve these goals, they will work closely with the PIH-US North Carolina technical advising (TA) team, advocacy team, marketing & communications team, and key external partners.
