  1. Adherence to NRC policies, guidance, and procedures.
  2. Plan, coordinate, and monitor the implementation of community-led initiatives in line with project proposals and donor requirements.
  3. Facilitate community engagement and participation in project activities, ensuring inclusivity and empowerment.
  4. Build and maintain partnerships with relevant stakeholders, including government authorities, technical institutions, and community leaders.
  5. Ensure effective project management, including budget management, monitoring, and reporting.
  6. Contribute to the development and dissemination of best practices and lessons learned in community-led environmental initiatives.
  7. Ensure capacity building of project staff and transfer key skillsย 
  8. Liaise and collaborate with relevant local authorities and other key stakeholders
  9. Promote the rights of IDPs/returnees in line with the advocacy strategy

    Specific responsibilitiesย 

    1. Conduct assessments to identify environmental challenges and opportunities for community-led solutions.
    2. Design and implement projects that address community-specific environmental concerns, such as water harvesting, alternative energy solutions, and sustainable agriculture.
    3. Provide technical guidance and support to communities on sustainable practices, renewable energy solutions, climate change adaptation, and livelihood opportunities.
    4. Engaging youth as agents of change in their communities, providing training and support for youth-led initiatives as appropriate.
    5. Collaborate with technical institutions and universities to develop innovative and sustainable solutions to environmental challenges.
    6. Support the monitoring and evaluation of project progress and performance, to inform programming.ย 
    7. Ensuring compliance with donor requirements and NRC policies and procedures.

    8. Bachelorโ€™s or Masterโ€™s degree in Environmental Science, Sustainable Development, or related field.
  10. Minimum of 5 years of experience in managing development projects.
Proven experience in project management, preferably in humanitarian or development contexts. Strong understanding of environmental challenges and solutions, with a focus on community-led approaches. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders. Fluency in English and Portuguese.

Context related skills, knowledge, and experience:ย 

Cultural sensitivity and understanding of the context in Cabo Delgado, Mozambique. Knowledge of one or more local languages is an advantageย
