Purpose of the Role

The Protection Officer supports the day-to-day implementation of NRCโ€™s Protection Project, ensuring high-quality case management, community-based protection activities, and protection monitoring. They provide direct services to vulnerable individuals, engage with communities to strengthen self-protection, and contribute to improving protection practices. The role upholds NRC standards and promotes access to essential services through collaboration and advocacy.

What you will do:

Adhere to NRC policies, tools, handbooks, and guidelines as well Government rules and regulationsย Implement delegated S&S project portfolio activities according to plan of action specifically regarding technical aspectsPrepare and develop technical documents and status reports as per project monitoring requirementsEnsure proper filing of technical documents in both hard and soft copiesEnsure that projects target beneficiary sites/units most in need, and explore and assess new and better ways to assistPromote and share ideas for technical improvement in relation to both the โ€œhardโ€ and โ€œsoftโ€ components of S&S programming

Specifically, you will:

Deliver case management services including assessment, planning, referrals, and follow-upConduct protection assessments and support Civilian Self-Protection (CSP) initiativesProvide training and guidance to communities on safety measuresMonitor and report protection trends through FGDs, KIIs, and other toolsMaintain accurate case data and contribute to reporting and evaluationsCoordinate with team leads, community stakeholders, and service providersPropose improvements to protection strategies and practices

Experience in a similar role within humanitarian or recovery contextsProven ability to work effectively in complex and high-risk environmentsTrack record of delivering results aligned with the role's responsibilitiesFluency in Arabic (required); proficiency in English (preferred)
