THE OPPORTUNITY
Plan International is currently implementing a three-year Flood Resilience Project. The project aims to build an environment where children and young people are able to contribute to the cities where they live to become climate-smart, resilient and sustainable. The target areas are within the cities of Manila and Navotas.
The Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) Officer ensures that the database systems are operational and maximized in capturing, analyzing, and reporting relevant project information. He/she also provides guidance to the project staff in project development and in community situation analysis, planning, monitoring, and evaluation processes through appropriate participatory and gender-responsive methods and in collaboration with the implementing partner/s.
Further, as the M&E Officer:
You will facilitate the implementation of monitoring and evaluation tools and processes. You will prepare progress reports and provides analysis for informed decisions. You will train or facilitate the training of project staff and partners on participatory resource appraisal and community development planning. You will facilitate the capturing/documentation, storage, and sharing of best practices and lessons learned. You will ensure the availability and accessibility of the project's M&E manual and guidelines. Plan International is a development and humanitarian organization. In exceptional cases, you will be asked to support emergency response activities in the communities in your assigned covered areas.
DO YOU HAVE WHAT IT TAKES?
To be successful in the role you will need among other things:
Bachelorโs degree in Social Science, Statistics, Social Work, Community Development, Statistics, or another related course. Minimum five (5) years of development work experience, and three (3) years experience in conducting research, planning, developing, and managing community development work-related projects. Has relevant training in project management, participatory research; and monitoring and evaluation methods and, project proposal development. Previous work experience in a similar project or in a non-government organization/s is an advantage. Good verbal and written communication skills and the ability to relate to people from all backgrounds. Applicants must be based in the Philippines and Filipino nationals.
