Purpose of the Job:

The Driver is responsible for transporting NRC staff, visitors, documents, and goods/materials to designated destinations when officially approved within an area, country, or other location.

Generic responsibilities:

Transport NRC staff, visitors, documents, and goods/materials to designated destinations when officially approved. Ensure the safety and security of the passengers, the goods, and the vehicle. Immediately report accidents, breakdowns and needs of repair and general maintenance/service. Always respect the local traffic regulations and the NRC logistical/vehicle policies. Maintain the logbook for all trips. Always maintain the vehicle in proper operating condition, including keeping the vehicle clean,ensuring enough fuel, checking the technical status etc. In liaison with the line manager,arrange for repairs and servicing. Ensure the assigned vehicle has all the necessary documents and equipment. Provide logistical support during training and workshops. Report any breaches/concerns, in a confidential manner, through NRC SCO reporting channels. 

Specific responsibilities:

Deliver correspondence to other institutions. Process local purchases following NRC procedures (fuel,small maintenance, etc.) Perform other related duties requested by the management.

Professional Competencies Generic: 

High School Diploma required  Valid driver's license Experience from working as a Driver in a humanitarian/recovery context. Previous experience from working in complex and volatile contexts. Documented results related to the position’s responsibilities. Some knowledge of English

Context related skills,knowledge, and experience:

Good communication skills Organisational and team working skills. Good cultural awareness and sensitivity Highly approachable, trustworthy, and confidential Good knowledge of the area. Fluency in Arabic language Knowledge of mechanical repairs is an advantage.

Education:
