In this dynamic role, youโll drive forward our private sector partnership commitments, bringing deep expertise in one or more specialist areas while collaborating across teams to achieve bold, organisation-wide goals. Youโll be part of NRCโs global Private Fundraising department, which mobilises flexible funding, grants, pro bono support, and investments from individuals, foundations, corporations, and philanthropists. As this fast-growing function expands, youโll be at the heart of building innovative, multi-year partnerships that bring real value to displacement-affected communities - backed by a global network of experts and a mission that matters.
What you will do:
Here are some of your specific responsibilities.
- Build and manage a diverse global portfolio of fundraising partnerships with private sector organisations, philanthropists, and investors across industries and sectors.
- Identify strategic opportunities across NRC's global, regional, and country priorities, match them with suitable partners, and secure funding through tailored engagement, negotiation, and relationship-building.
- Engage directly with C-suite leaders to communicate NRCโs value and secure funding commitments.
- Provide global leadership and mentorship to NRC teams on private sector engagement, and capacity building across HQ, regional, and country offices.
- Drive towards a defined fundraising target, while promoting NRCโs partnerships through case studies, events, and high-level meetings.
- Influence global and regional private sector fundraising strategies and lead innovation in financing models, especially within the Norwegian and Nordic markets.
- Represent NRC in strategic forums and develop tailored fundraising aligned with NRCโs needs.
- Travel as needed to manage partnerships and pursue new funding opportunities.

What you will bring:
- Documented highly professional experience within business development/sales, corporate partnerships and/or social impact or other relevant professional qualification.ย
- Documented extensive professional knowledge of corporates, private foundations, or private philanthropist
- Capacity for flexible thinking and innovation to find win-win solutions between NRC and private sector.
- Documented experience in creating new private sector partnerships โ including identifying partnership opportunities, designing projects, brokering, and cultivating relationships, negotiations and designing and formalizing partnership structures.ย
- Documented experience and ability to engage at C-suite roles/senior levels in business and development sector contexts, and to build trust-based relationships with senior-level executives.
- Fluency in Norwegian and English, both written and verbal.ย
- Documented communication skills to build bridges between private organisations and individuals and the humanitarian sector.ย
- Documented experience working with stakeholders across the public, private sector, and non-profit sectors, and if possible, an existing network of contacts to draw upon.
- Experience in working with public private partnerships/blended finance/impact investment or joint ventures is an advantage.ย
- Documented experience in project planning and management, demonstrated excellent communication skills and the ability to work independently and proactively.
- Willing and able to work outside normal work hours, to operate different time zones towards colleagues in field offices and corporate partners around the world.

- Salary/benefits: grade 9 on NRCโs Resident salary scale, with accompanying terms and conditions.ย
