Purpose of consultancy
The consultant is expected to continue the development of WHO benchmarks for the practice of Nuad Thai.
Background ย
Driven by the country needs, WHO is committed to setting norms and standards through a series of benchmarks for traditional and complementary medicine, including the benchmarks for practice of Nuad Thai.
To take the development process forward, a working group meeting, followed by an extended peer review, needs to be organized to finalize the draft benchmarks. ย ย
Deliverables
- Deliverable 1: Preparation of a working group meeting.
Expected by September 2024ย- Task 1.1: To organize the meeting to review the first draft.
- Task 1.2: To prepare the second draft based on meeting consensus.
- Deliverable 2: Finalization of the benchmark document.
Expected by December 2024- Task 2.1: To conduct peer review to receive feedback.
- Task 2.2: To prepare the third draft based on feedback opinions.ย
Qualifications, experience, skills and languages
Educational Qualifications:
Essential:
- First level university degree in traditional medicine.
Desirable:
- An advanced university degree in global health.
Experience: ย
Essential:
- Minimum 4 years of relevant working experience in traditional medicine.
- International experience or exposure in professional settings.ย
Desirable:
- Prior working experience with WHO.ย
Skills:ย
- Knowledge of evidence generation for development of technical product.
- Knowledge of publication clearance process within WHO. ย
- Skill in organizing technical meetings in line with established protocol.
- Skill in collaborating with field experts to facilitate consultation.
Languages required:
Essential: ย
Expert knowledge of English.
Locationย
Off site: Home-based.
Travelย
The consultant is not expected to travel. ย
Remuneration and budget (travel costs are excluded):
Remuneration:
Band level A - USD 3,955 - 6,980 per month.
Living expenses (A living expense is payable to on-site consultants who are internationally recruited):

The Consultant shall be solely responsible for withholding and paying any taxes, duties, social security contributions and any other contributions which are applicable to the Consultant in each location/jurisdiction in which the work hereunder is performed, and the Consultant shall not be entitled to any reimbursement thereof by WHO.
