Thereโ€™s something special about spending your days alongside like-minded people, just as committed to purposeful work as you. At Save the Children Australia, we attract bright and big-hearted people who are inspired to make a difference. Together, we are fearless in our pursuit of making lasting change for the children and communities who need it most.

Save the Children and 54 reasons: A place where your purpose matters.

It takes all types of personalities and talents to drive our organisationโ€“ yours included. We value a healthy work-life balance and ensure our people feel connected to each other and our impact. Learn from inspiring people and grow from a connection to our strong local and global networks. From our programs to our support services - this is the place to realise your purpose.

A place to make a difference:

Here youโ€™re empowered to make a difference in childrenโ€™s lives by learning, sharing and collaborating to find new ways to solve problems. In this full time permanent* role, youโ€™ll work as a part of our Climate Change Division team from anywhere in the APAC region to help us create lasting change for children everywhere. The Senior Portfolio Operations Advisor plays an important role in delivering on our vision of a better world for children. Whether itโ€™s providing high quality support to the Climate Change Divisionโ€™s (CCD) GCF portfolio or for ensuring quality assurance in operational inputs for project design, youโ€™ll be contributing to our commitment to children in Australia, the Pacific and around the world.

You will make a difference by:

ยท Ops backstopping and support to Members and Country Offices (CO) throughout the project cycle

ยท Provide inputs to and review CO selection and operational aspects of project designs, ensuring operational feasibility, appropriate resourcing, and assisting COs to structure and plan effectively for implementation within GCF design constraints.

ยท Review operational and implementation components of donor reports

ยท Support the Head of Operations in developing operational guidance, tools and process maps to assist COs and Members throughout the project cycle

ยท Support the Account Group (AG) to embed progress reviews and monitoring processes, including PRIME set-up and quarterly portfolio reviews

A place to feel valued:

Your deep expertise in program management experience in international programs (at least 10 years) is invaluable. We recognise your contribution and provide you the support to ensure you can bring your best, knowing here you have the space and opportunity to grow. Bringing your best every day, means:

ยท Extensive program management experience in international programs (at least 10 years), including a demonstrated ability to set up operational management systems

ยท Experience of managing the operation oversight of multi-million-dollar portfolios.

ยท Strong analytical skills and the ability to synthesise and process information from multiple sources

ยท Knowledge of international development systems, institutions and donors, and of procedures, accountability frameworks and best practices

ยท Demonstrated ability to thrive in a matrix management environment and with remote teams engaging online only. Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills including influencing, negotiation and coaching.

A place to belong:

It takes all types of people to do the challenging work we do. We are diverse personalities, backgrounds and talents, embracing our differences as one strong and united team. We see and celebrate the unique value you bring to our organisation, and offer a range of rewards for your effort, including:

ยท Opportunity to work on additional projects to enable you to stretch and feel connected to programs in a different way
