The National Reconciliation Program (NRP) at SCC was founded to address Indigenous child inequality and discrimination. Guided by the Wi-Mino-Kisikat Relationship Framework (Wi-Mino-Kisikat means โ€œit is going to be a good day โ€“ a new beginningโ€ in the Saulteaux language. The framework was named by Raymond Shingoose), the (NRP) seeks to contribute to Truth and Reconciliation efforts in Canada by working in close partnership with Indigenous organizations.


The Impact You will Make:

Reporting to the Senior Manager, National Reconciliation Program, as Senior Partnership Coordinator, you will be an integral part of projects that contribute to supporting our mission of contributing to a reconciled Canada. In this role, you will work closely with Indigenous organization through various methods of collaboration, differing per each community and organizationโ€™s unique mission and mandate, to support a diverse range of projects designed to uphold and protect Indigenous & Child rights. The position will also provide expertise within SCC, helping to reshape and shift the organization towards one that prioritizes localization and decolonization in all aspects of programming.


Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

Relationship Management

Maintain relationships with relevant stakeholders within partner organizations.Support partners in the deliver of programs and non-cash gifts, ensuring alignment with proposals, NRP and community values and community priorities.Work with partners to collect data and narratives to support the production of high quality updates to stakeholders.Uphold and integrate the principles of Relationship Framework, UNDRIP and the TRC with all stakeholders both internally and externally.

Award Management Support

Alongside the Partnership Manager(s), support the implementation of awards and non-cash gifts through providing reporting, administrative and communications support.Support the development of key project documentation including, but not limited to contracts and agreements, project charters, MEAL documentation and close-out reports.Support implementation of quality programs through the development of project management such as work plans and detailed implementation plans.Support partners in the development of tools and collection of project data to ensure project impact can be measured in line with both donor requirements and community priorities.Ensure award and project activity is documented and maintained within STC systems including AMS, PRIME and SharePoint.Uphold and integrate the principles, values and actions of the Relationship Framework, UNDRIP and TRC with all stakeholders both internally and externally.

Support the continual improvement and development of NRP systems and processes.ย 

Qualifications (include but are not limited to):

Minimum 3-5 year progressive work experience in NGO sector in Canada with a focus on Indigenous children and families.Bachelor degree in Social Sciences or Indigenous issues is preferred though not required.Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills are critical.Detail-oriented and able to maintain and organize accurate records within multiple systems.Knowledge of the current political, socio-economic and historic context of Indigenous Peoples in Canada.Strong English writing skills; proficiency in an Indigenous language considered an asset.Ability to travel to remote locations on an occasional basis.
