NRC Protection from Violence (PfV)ย supports communitiesโ€™ right to freedom from violence, coercion, and deliberate deprivation. PfVย seeksย to prevent or mitigate the consequences of violence. When violence does occur, PfVย aims to mitigate the harm through dedicated support to individuals, households, and communities.ย NRC launched PfV globally and in Palestine on 01 January 2022.ย Currently, within PfV,ย NRC is implementing Individual Protection Services in Gaza. Within this project, in the West Bank, NRC will launch its PfV activities for the first time starting primarily with Individual Response Services (Protection Case Management and Individual Protection Assistance) as well as Protection Monitoring.

The purpose of the Protection from Violence Coordinator position is to provide support on specific technical competences related to programme development and line manage the Protection from Violence Protection Officers implementing individual response services.

Specific responsibilitiesย 

Oversee protection from violence staff through the provision of technical support, coaching, supervision and guidance, including approval of individual protection assistance (IPA) and case plans and sign-off on cash and in-kind assistance.ย  Understand and follow up on activities and assess progress of implementation, provide solutions and report issues when needed.ย  Analyse protection case management databases to identify trends in protection risks including barriers in access to services, unmet needs, and other concerns, and share with Protection from Violence Project Manager as appropriate.ย  Develop and maintain effective working relationships, including service as referral focal point with relevant stakeholders including partner agencies, community leaders and service providers and the service mapping. Ensure that the authorities are informed about NRC Protection projects and support advocacy for individual cases. Monitor budgeting, expenditure and expense tracking activities throughout the project, in close collaboration with the Project Manager. Contribute to the development of concept notes and proposals.ย  Participate in periodic programme reviews, planning meetings and external meetings as requested by the supervisor. Generate internal and external protection project reports as required. Contribute to implementation of Safe and Inclusive Programming Minimum Standards across your area of work

ย 1. Professional competencies:

A minimum of 3 years of experience in Protection related workย  University degree in social work, psychology, or psychosocial counselling. Strong understanding of basic counselling and psychosocial support concepts; extensive experience in providing those services to marginalized groups and individuals exposed to violence Experience in coordination with external stakeholders, including local authorities, municipalities, and partner NGOs. Good interpersonal and problem-solving skills, creativity, and flexibility Understand rights and protection issues of target populations; experience working with affected populations. Fluency in English and Arabic, both written and verbalุฒ

What do we offer

The position is based in Hebron with some travel to Jerusalem Duty Station.

Type of Contract: One year, renewable upon availability of funding.

Salary: Grade 7 based upon the NRC grading Scale. Salary & Benefits are based on Jerusalem Duty Station.
