The Global Green Growth Institute internship program (also called \"Grow Green\" Program) provides a unique learning opportunity for students and recent graduates from diverse academic backgrounds. The program is designed for talented and motivated individuals skilled in areas relevant to GGGIโ€™s operations. The program allows selected candidates to gain insight into the work of the Institute and provides assistance and training in various professional fields in a multicultural environment. The Global Green Growth Institute (GGGI), headquartered in Seoul, Republic of Korea, is an intergovernmental organization founded to support and promote a model of economic growth known as green growth; which targets key aspects of economic performance such as poverty reduction and job creation, as well as social inclusion and environmental sustainability. GGGI works with countries around the world, building their capacity and working collaboratively on green growth policies that can impact the lives of millions. GGGIโ€™s Internship Program is a project-oriented learning opportunity for students and recent graduates (within the last 12 months) to gain experience through specific assignments based on GGGIโ€™s current operational needs. GGGI welcomes motivated, open-minded, and self-directed individuals to apply. You will be given an opportunity to work directly with outstanding and inspiring Green Growth professionals, participate in workshops and meetings, and contribute to analytical work as well as innovative rethinking on green growth.

CURRENT OPPORTUNITY

The internship position will be with the GGGI office in Janakpur, Nepal. The intern will work directly with the Senior Project Coordination Officer, Program Management Officer, and the Agri-Business Associate in areas covering agribusiness and general support for the office. The intern will mainly support the project โ€œBuilding Climate Resilience and Reintegrating Economically Displaced Workers through Climate Smart Agriculture in the Terai Flood Plain (KOICA CSA) (2022-2025) - The project supports widespread adoption of climate smart agriculture to reduce vulnerability and improve food and job security, especially for women and returned migrant workers. It does this by a) improving emergency management in the agriculture sector to protect lives and livelihoods; b) strengthening resilient agriculture planning and implementation; and c) building and financing climate smart agriculture businesses for job creation and long-term resilient green growth.

We are looking for a talented individual to work with us in the project office to support the team in challenge fund implementation and monitoring of challenge fund progress results, challenge fund report writing, collecting data, documenting stories and providing logistic support in the Janakpur Project Implementation office. More specifically, the assignment will include, but is not limited to, the following:

Support in monitoring and evaluation of grantees and preparing reports, Support in technical and financial report collection and compilation from grantee Support in developing a database of grantee businesses and update on a regular basis. Support in the tracking of progress as per delivery of outputs/milestones planned by grantee. Support in different trainings/meetings and assist in designing and developing resource materials. Support on development of presentations, drafting letters and briefs for GGGI events. Support on logistical arrangements for programs/events organized by GGGI, including concept note development, drafting invitations, designing banners, coordinating with stakeholders, and coordinating with the event venue. Accompany project team to meetings and field visits to support and learn when required. Participate and contribute to technical discussions related to agriculture, forestry, agribusiness, disaster risk management and relevant sectors.

ELIGIBILITY

Applicants to the GGGI internship program must at the time of application meet the following requirements:

Be enrolled in a Bachelorโ€™s (final year) or Masterโ€™s program prior to internship assignment, or a recent graduate within the last 12 months. Bachelorโ€™s or Masterโ€™s degree in Agriculture, Agri-Business, Natural Resources Management, Business Administration and other related fields. Be engaged or recently engaged in academic study in a field directly related to the Instituteโ€™s work Have good computer literacy in standard Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook) and graphic design software applications (photo and video editing) Residency in the Madhesh province is a plus. Possess an excellent command of English, Maithili and Nepali

IMPORTANT INFORMATION

Duration: The internship program is for at least three months and up to six months. Once selected, interns must begin internship either prior to or within 12 months of graduation.

Stipend: GGGI interns receive a monthly stipend of USD $500 (unless agreed to be funded by sponsoring institutions). All costs related to travel, insurance, accommodation, and living expenses must be borne by either the interns themselves or sponsoring institutions.

Visa: GGGI will provide a supporting letter for visa. Interns will be responsible for obtaining and financing the necessary visas.

Travel: Intern will arrange and finance their travel to the internship location.

Medical Insurance: Interns must present proof of valid medical insurance to GGGI upon returning the signed internship contract.

Confidentiality: Interns must keep confidential any and all unpublished information obtained during the course of the internship and may not publish any documents based on such information.

Academic Credit: Interns may get academic credit from their institution of higher education for the internship. Interns need to check with their university to confirm their academic credit policy for internships.

Working Hours: Interns are expected to work during normal working hours. Leave should be pre-approved by the Intern Manager, and the latter should inform the Office of HR accordingly.

Learning Outcomes: before completion of the internship, Intern Managers are expected to review the learning outcomes with the intern.

Certificate: provided upon successful completion of the internship, upon request. Child protection โ€“ GGGI is committed to child protection, irrespective of whether any specific area of work involves direct contact with children.
