POSITION SUMMARY

The Knowledge Production and Communications Officer will lead GGGIโ€™s communication and knowledge sharing work in Lao PDR, and act as the organizationโ€™s focal point for related issues at country level. In this role, the Officer will lead day-to-day management of GGGI Lao PDRโ€™s small Communication and Knowledge Sharing Unit and team and will be responsible for developing and delivering the roll out of GGGI Lao PDRโ€™s communication and knowledge sharing strategy in alignment with GGGIโ€™s global strategy. The Officer is also responsible for overseeing and ensuring consistency in branding and visual identity across communications assets developed by the country office. The Officer will have a key role in delivering communication and knowledge products and initiatives on the MFAT-financed project โ€œNature-Based Solutions for Urban Adaptationโ€, linked to the design, implementation and dissemination of research and knowledge development in support of urban wetland restoration in Lao PDR

PURPOSE
  • Provide high quality technical expertise on knowledge production, knowledge management, and visual and brand identity for communication in Lao PDR.
  • Oversee and lead communications and knowledge production across the Lao PDR country program, and ensure that all communication products are aligned with GGGI's corporate communication policy and strategy.
  • Manage GGGIโ€™s media relations and social media presence in the country.
  • Design high-quality knowledge products and initiatives, and ensure correct roll out of surveys, research activities and associated assessments, and develop practical knowledge tools as required.
    ENGAGEMENT
    • Engage with GGGI Lao PDRโ€™s technical, sectoral and project teams to facilitate their interventions and support external audience-facing communication and knowledge sharing initiatives.
    • Engage with external partners including service providers, media colleagues, and design partners to ensure high quality communication and knowledge products, help promote GGGI Lao PDRโ€™s green growth solutions, and collaborate to enhance communication on green growth issues.
    • Foster the Communication and Knowledge Sharing Unit team and staff, supporting learning and development opportunities, including professional growth.
