The Global Green Growth Institute internship program (also called \"Grow Green\" Program) provides a unique learning opportunity for students and recent graduates from diverse academic backgrounds. The program is designed for talented and motivated individuals skilled in areas relevant to GGGIโs operations. The program allows selected candidates to gain insight into the work of the Institute and provides assistance and training in various professional fields in a multicultural environment. CURRENT OPPORTUNITY
This is a unique opportunity to support the technical assistance provided by GGGI to the Dominican Republic government, including the Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources (MMARN in Spanish) to facilitate the implementation the GCF Readiness program โMobilizing International Climate Finance and Private Investments for Low-Carbon Development in the Dominican Republicโ.
The selected intern will focus on supporting the processing, systematization, and analysis of data related to environmental indicators, climate finance, and project outcomes. This role requires a background in environmental engineering, ecology, or a closely related field with strong quantitative and analytical skills.
The intern will be physically located in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic in the Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources. The intern will report to GGGI Sustainable Finance Senior Officer and will be responsible for the following tasks:
Support the collection, organization, and analysis of data related to climate change, mitigation, and adaptation activities.
Participate actively in meetings with sectorial institutions, taking notes, generating minutes, and following up on commitments and next steps.
Contribute to the preparation of presentations, infographics, and summary documents for workshops and stakeholder engagements.
Support communications, coordination, and logistics between the Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources and public and private actors related to the implementation of the GCF readiness program.
Translate documents related to climate change from Spanish to English.
Support administrative and logistic processes to coordinate meetings with climate change stakeholders.
Transcribe information from the meeting minutes to Excel and other reports.
Prepare announcements, invitations, and other communication materials before meetings.
Support the effective development of on-site workshops, including attendeesโ registration and attention, among others.
Assist in drafting data-driven inputs for communication materials and technical reports in both English and Spanish.
Support other required aspects of the programs.
ELIGIBILITY
Applicants to the GGGI internship program must comply with the following requirements at the time of application:
Be Enrolled in the final year of a Bachelorโs or a master's program, or recent graduate (within 12 months)
Academic background in environmental engineering, ecology, or another relevant field with exposure to data science, statistics,
Possess excellent English and Spanish skills โverbal and written.
Have immediate availability to start the internship.
Experience with Excel, and at least one data analysis or visualization tool
Flexibility in time, especially during working hours (9 am to 6 pm), and availability to attend meetings when required.
QUALIFICATION
A university degree in a field relevant to sustainability, climate change, economics, communications, international relations, monitoring, evaluation, etc.
Advanced spoken and written fluency in English and Spanish.
Prior experience in international development projects delivered by NGOs or international organizations is a plus.
Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
Experience in the use of Microsoft 365 applications, particularly SharePoint, is desirable.

SELECTION PROCESS
Applications submitted after the deadline will not be considered. GGGI evaluates applications based on eligibility requirements, relevance of academic study and work experience (if any); and the level of interest and motivation to contribute to the development of work. Due to the high volume of applications, only shortlisted candidates will be contacted.TERMS AND CONDITIONS:
Resources: the intern should use his/her own laptop and cellphone device to perform his/her duties and tasks.
Duration: The internship program lasts at least three months and up to six months. Once selected, interns must begin their internship either prior to or within 12 months of graduation.
Stipend: GGGI interns receive a monthly stipend of USD$500 per month. All costs related to travel, insurance, accommodation, and living expenses must be borne by either the interns or their sponsoring institutions.
Travel: Intern will arrange and finance their travel to the internship location.
Medical Insurance: Interns must present proof of valid medical insurance to GGGI upon returning the signed internship contract.
Confidentiality: Interns must keep confidential all unpublished information obtained during the internship and may not publish any documents based on such information.
Academic Credit: Interns may get academic credit from their institution of higher education for the internship. Interns need to check with their university to confirm their academic credit policy for internships.
Working Hours: interns are expected to work during normal working hours. Leave should be pre-approved by the Intern Manager, and the latter should inform the Office of HR accordingly.
Learning Outcomes: before completion of the internship, Intern Managers are expected to review the learning outcomes with the intern.
Certificate: provided upon successful completion of the internship, upon request.
