Work LocationThis internship is designed to be full-time (35 hours) and in-person in UN Headquarters in New York but can be remote or adjusted based on the availability of the successful candidate to part-time (20 hours per week) and hybrid modality. Expected durationStart as soon as possible for a duration of four (4) to six (6) months. Duties and ResponsibilitiesThis internship is located in the Enterprise Risk Management Section of the Accountability Service in the Business Transformation and Accountability Division (BTAD) of the Department of Management Strategy, Policy and Compliance (DMSPC). The Intern - Management and Programme Analysis will report to the relevant supervisor. The focus of the internship is the implementation of enterprise risk management across the global Secretariat. The intern will be expected to: 1) Conduct research on issues related to enterprise risk management and internal control system. 2) Establish internal databases; manage data relevant to the scope of programme/project activities 3) Provide support in consultative and other meetings, conferences, etc. 4) Work on websites and other outreach materials. 5) Perform other duties as required. Qualifications/special skillsNo working experience is required to apply for the United Nations Internship Programme. Your training, education, advance course work or skills should benefit the United Nations during your internship. Applicants must meet the following requirements: - Be enrolled in, or have completed, a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher). - Be enrolled in, or have completed, the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum bachelor's degree or equivalent). LanguagesEnglish and French are the working languages of the UN Secretariat. For this internship, fluency in English is required. Additional InformationVisa and Work Authorization Mandatory Requirements: For internships in the United States of America, interns who are not United States citizens, permanent residents or on another non-immigrant (such as F1 visa) status, will be required to obtain a G4 visa. Interns will be responsible for ensuring that they have a valid visa, and if required, employment authorization (CPT/OPT), allowing them to undertake the internship. Interns are required to have the necessary hardware (computer) and internet access to perform the tasks stipulated in the internship. Intern Specific textInterns are not financially remunerated by the United Nations. Costs and arrangements for travel, visas, accommodation and living expenses are the responsibility of interns or their sponsoring institutions. Interns who are not citizens or permanent residents of the country where the internship is undertaken, may be required to obtain the appropriate visa and work/employment authorization. Successful candidates should discuss their specific visa requirements before accepting the internship offer.
