Work LocationBangkok Office Expected duration6 months - Starting around 16 March 2026 Duties and ResponsibilitiesThe UN Secretary-General launched on 1 January 2019 a bold and new global reform which repositioned the UN Development System to deliver more effectively and efficiently with the achievement of the 2030 Agenda and the Sustainable Development Goals. As part of this reform, UN Resident Coordinator Offices (UN RCO), under the leadership of an empowered and independent UN Resident Coordinator - Representative of the UN Secretary-General at country level - support countries in the achievement of their development priorities and the attainment of the SDGs. This position is located in the United Nations Resident Coordinator Office in Thailand. The internship is UNPAID and full-time for the duration of either a minimum internship period of 3 months of full-time engagement, and 4 months for part-time. Interns work at least 35 hours per week/ 5 days a week for full-time or 2.5 days a week for part-time internship, reporting for work in the office with the possibility of remote work arrangements. This position reports to the Communications & Advocacy Officer and supports the Resident Coordinator's Office in developing and executing strategic communications initiatives that advance the UN's mandate in Thailand. The role provides hands-on experience in strategic communications, stakeholder engagement, advocacy project management, multi-channel visibility planning, and outreach activities that position the UN Country Team effectively within Thailand's development landscape. Qualifications/special skillsTo qualify for an internship with the United Nations Internship Programme, applicants must, at the time of application, meet one of the following requirements: (a) Be enrolled in, or have completed, a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher); or, (b) Be enrolled in, or have completed, the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum bachelorโs level or equivalent). Have a demonstrated keen interest in the work of the United Nations and have a personal commitment to the ideals of the Charter and backgrounds and beliefs, which include willingness to try and understand and be tolerant of differing opinions and views. Experience in editing, writing and translating Thai and English content, and demonstrated ability to turn simple ideas to fruition/next game-changing content. Attentive, organized, flexible and motivated. Knowledge of Adobe Creative Studio and Canva is desirable.
