The Position:

Under the overall supervision and guidance of UNFPA Representative and Deputy Representative, and the direct supervision of the Humanitarian Coordinator, the head of hub/humanitarian specialist for Aden will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the office and will lead the planning, coordination and implementation of humanitarian interventions, including rapid assessments, programme development and implementation in the IRG areas in coordination with the main Country Office in Sanaโ€™a.

Qualifications and Experience:

Education:

Advanced university qualifications in international relations/humanitarian law, social anthropology or related fields.

Knowledge and Experience:

7 years of progressively responsible professional work experience with a minimum of 2 years of experience in humanitarian and relief operations; Experience in GBV/RH in the context of emergency response is essential; Knowledge and understanding of UN humanitarian relief operations and procedures is essential Experience in programme coordination and GBV Programming

Languages:

Fluency in English is essential, good working knowledge in Arabic is an asset.
