Mission and objectivesUNFPA Uzbekistan, as part of its commitment to disability-inclusive gender-based violence (GBV) prevention and response, is working to ensure that women and girls with disabilities have equitable ac-cess to information about available services. Within the framework of the UN Disability Inclusion Strategy (UNDIS), the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (CRPD), and the Beijing Plat-form for Action, this assignment contributes to UNFPAโs broader ef-fort to address intersecting inequalities. As part of the 2025 May Inclusion Initiative under the UN Volunteers programme, this as-signment will engage Online Volunteers to sup-port awareness-raising among women and girls with disabilities and their caregivers and communities on the available legislative framework for the protection of their rights, including reproductive health rights, and gender-based violence, existence of a state sys-tem for providing services, existing referral pathway information and adapting into formats that are accessible and user-friendly for persons with cognitive, sen-sory, and intellectual disabilities.

Task DescriptionWorking under the guidance of UNFPA Uzbekistanโs focal point on GBV and inclusion the Online Volunteers will: โข Review available information on womenโs rights, protection mechanisms and GBV referral information shared by UNFPA (e.g., steps to access services, contacts, support timelines) โข Adapt this information into: o Easy-to-read formats (based on international standards such as Inclusion Europe) o Plain language versions o Basic visual or layout designs to enhance readability (e.g., icons, short bullet sequences) โข Provide short accessibility tips or layout suggestions that UNFPA can integrate into future documents. โข Provide preparatory support for the training session on disability-inclusive services to women and girls with disabilities subjected to violence to be held for capacitation of the Organizations of People with Disabilities (OPDs) (training tentatively planned for end May 2025). This task does not require visual design expertise; layout support will be provided where need-ed.
