The purpose of officer position is to support and assist the finance coordinator and the team in the day to day implementation of the finance function responsibilities.ย
Generic responsibilitiesย
- Adhere to NRC policies, tools, handbooks and guidelines .
- Prepare and develop status reports as required by Finance coordinator .
- Promote and share ideas for improvement of the finance function .
- Support on CO โs cash boxes and bank reconciliations at monthly financial closure .
- Ensure accurate maintenance of all financial and accounting files and transactions
- Ensure there is sufficient cash in the bank and in cash boxes .
- Verify supporting documents to ensure completeness before payments are processed .
- Ensure proper and adequate filing system for financial documents
- Conduct weekly cash counts with the Finance Assistant and month end cash counts with the Finance Coordinator.
- Prepare all necessary information for internal or external audits .
- Assign duties, supervise, and train Finance Assistants .
Specific responsibilitiesย
- Ensure, in coordination with the relevant project staff, that project/program expenditures are incurred consistent with donor agreements and budgets.
- Conduct and following up financial reports with Implementing Partners and report any violation for the terms of signed agreement between IP & NRC.
- Follow up on cash advances and proof of payments tracking ( finger prints / receipts) and ensure time clearance with staff / implementing partners concerned.
