Job overview:
The purpose of Compliance Assistant is to Serve Norwegian Refugee Council (NRC) Internal Risk and Compliance unit and works closely with Risk and Compliance Manager, and Investigations Coordinator, performs advanced level professional internal compliance/auditing and work as a key component of the compliance team.
Work involves supporting Compliance unit in managing a comprehensive compliance/audit programme and support including financial and compliance audit projects, providing consulting services NRCโs management and staff and providing advice to development of internal controls.ย
Generic responsibilities:
Ensure adherence to NRC policies, handbooks, guidelines, and donor requirements Prepare and submit reports and analysis under Risk and Compliance Managerโs supervision Implement NRCโs systems and procedures at area level Ensure proper filing of documentsย Ensure adherence to NRC policies and the national labor law in all processes and procedures Ensure the compliance aspects of the donor contracts and NRC guidelines Oversee NRC field officesโ operations and ensure compliance with Donors and NRC policies and procedures.ย Promote and share ideas for improvement of the support functionSpecific responsibilities:
Generic Professional Competencies:
1 to 2 yearsโ previous work experience with satisfactory performance in the same or similar functions areas preferably with humanitarian/recovery context or INGOs. Bachelorโs in accounting and finance, Business Administration or relevant field (MBA or professional certification preferred) Awareness of survivor-centered approaches to PSEA in Humanitarian organizations Considerable knowledge of policies, procedures, regulations and laws. Good knowledge in Microsoft Office especially in Excel Should be good in English language and communicate in both local languages (Pashto and Dari) Experience from working in a support function in a humanitarian/recovery context Experience of working in complex and volatile contexts Documented results related to the positionโs responsibilities Good knowledge of English languageBehavioral Competencies:
