Communications UNHCR Netherlands
UNHCR the Netherlands is the national office of the United Nations Refugee Agency. We work to increase support for refugees in the Netherlands and disseminate the global work of UNHCR. The communications team consists of a Senior External Relations Associate and a Senior External Relations Assistant. Together we work to increase our social media impact, answer press queries, and seek opportunities for (free) publicity, and create and develop awareness raising campaigns and events.
We are looking for a communications intern to support our External Relations team. You will be part of the UNHCR Netherlands office. You will also work closely with colleagues from UNHCR's protection team and Fundraising & Partnerships team. You have daily contact with colleagues all over the world. You report to the Senior External Relations Associate in the Netherlands.

What does the job involve?
You plan and help with the development of UNHCR Netherlands' social media channels and website.
You assist in the planning and organizing of events, campaigns and activities, such as World Refugee Day and football tournaments for refugees.
You translate press releases, articles and stories, and support in media analysis.
You support in answering questions from journalists and the Dutch public, and you help prepare press information.
What are you bringing?
You have (almost) completed a relevant HBO or WO education.
You have experience and affinity with online communication; experience with CMS is an advantage.
Experience with editorial work, video editing and design software is an advantage.
You are creative, flexible and results-oriented. You have an excellent knowledge of the Dutch and English language, spoken and written.
In order to be considered eligible for an internship, the following criteria must be fulfilled:
โข Be a recent graduate or current student in a graduate/undergraduate school programme, preferable in political sciences and / or international relations, from a university or higher education facility accredited by UNESCO; and
โข Have completed at least two years of undergraduate studies in a field relevant or of interest to the work of UNHCR.

Communicatie UNHCR Nederland
UNHCR Nederland is het landelijke kantoor van de internationale VN-Vluchtelingenorganisatie. We werken aan het vergroten van draagvlak voor vluchtelingen in Nederland en geven bekendheid aan het wereldwijde werk van UNHCR. Het communicatieteam bestaat uit een Senior External Relations Associate en een Senior External Relations Assistant. Samen werken we aan het vergroten van onze social media impact, verzorgen we de woordvoering, zoeken we publiciteit en bedenken en ontwikkelen we campagnes en evenementen.
We zijn op zoek naar een communicatie stagiair(e) voor ons communicatieteam. Je maakt deel uit van het kantoor van UNHCR Nederland. Je werkt bovendien nauw samen met collegaโs van het juridische team en het team Fondsenwerving & Partnerschappen van UNHCR. Dagelijks heb je contact met collegaโs over de hele wereld. Je legt verantwoording af aan de Senior External Relations adviseur in Nederland.

Wat houdt de functie in?
Je plant en helpt mee met de ontwikkeling van de social mediakanalen en website van UNHCR Nederland.
Je assisteert bij het bedenken, voorbereiden en uitvoeren van events, campagnes en activiteiten, zoals op Wereldvluchtelingendag en voetbaltoernooien voor vluchtelingen.
Je vertaalt persberichten, artikelen en verhalen en ondersteunt de media analyse.
Je ondersteunt in het beantwoorden van vragen van journalisten en het Nederlandse publiek, en je helpt met het opstellen van persinformatie.
Wat breng jij mee?
Je hebt een (bijna) afgeronde relevante HBO- of WO-opleiding.
Je hebt aantoonbare ervaring en affiniteit met online communicatie, ervaring met CMS is een pre.
Ervaring met redactiewerk, video-editing en design software is een pre.
Je bent creatief, initiatiefrijk, flexibel en resultaatgericht. Je hebt een uitstekende beheersing van de Nederlandse en Engelse taal in woord en schrift.This position doesn't require a functional clearance
