UNHCR is recruiting a Senior Donor Care and Administration Assistant (IG) in Copenhagen, Denmark.
Established in December 1950, UNHCR is mandated to lead and coordinate international action to protect and assist refugees and to find durable solutions to their plight. During more than seven decades, UNHCR has helped more than 84 million people restart their lives. Today, UNHCR staff in more than 135 countries continue to help and protect millions of refugees, returnees, internally displaced and stateless people.
UNHCR has relocated several key functions from our Headquarters in Geneva to UN City in Copenhagen, including UNHCRโs Private Sector Partnerships Service (PSP), which supports UNHCRโs growing engagement with the general public and the private sector in all regions of the world.
UNHCRโs Private Sector Partnerships team for Denmark was established in 2018 and covers both fundraising from individuals and partnerships with the Danish private sector. PSP Denmark is experiencing strong growth. One of our key priorities is to further accelerate our Individual Giving programme focused on growing the support of individuals through various fundraising and engagement campaigns. We use a variety of channels, both digital and offline, and enjoy strong support and loyalty from our fast-growing donor base in Denmark.
The position
To keep up with the growing ambitions of the PSP Denmark operation, the Senior Donor Care and Administration Assistant (IG) will play a key role in the IG team with particular focus on donor care, administration, reporting, communication and systems. The position will contribute to the overall development and implementation of the Individual Giving fundraising programme and the embedding of PSP Denmarkโs digital transformation in line with UNHCRโs global strategy.
This exciting function offers a unique opportunity to work with fundraising, donor engagement, backbone systems and communication as part of a growing and dynamic small Danish team that works closely with regional and global experts.
Scope of Assignment
Under the supervision of the Head of Individual Giving in Denmark, the tasks of the Senior Donor Care and Administration Assistant (IG) will be the following:
โข Manage all individual donor care activities and secure a timely response to donor inquiries;
โข Assist with management of PSP Denmarkโs donor database ensuring that donor records are kept up to date;
โข Assist with payment systems and gateways and other donor touchpoints, continuously securing business continuity and donor satisfaction;
โข Assist with administration, payment of invoices, management of vendor relationships, updating of service agreements, purchase orders as well as other contractual documents;
โข Assist with procurement of services, including tender processes;
โข Manage internal monthly income recording and expense ledger;
โข Manage annual reporting to the Danish authorities; including tax reporting and income reporting;
โข Assist with community management on UNHCRโs social media channels in Denmark;
โข Perform ad-hoc communication tasks, including proof reading;
โข Perform other related duties that may be required.
Essential minimum qualifications and professional experience required
The ideal candidate will be required to have:
Education and Work experience:
โข Completed secondary education with preferably a degree in Finance, Marketing/Business Administration, Communications, or a related field.
โข Minimum 2 years of relevant work experience with secondary education or minimum 1 year of relevant work experience with Undergraduate degree (equivalent of a Bachelorโs or higher degree);
โข Relevant work experience in a finance, marketing/fundraising or communications unit, preferably in a not-for-profit organization, an international organization, large corporate, a marketing/fundraising consultancy firm or similar;
โข Experience with donor/customer service programs;
โข Experience with planning, budgeting, reporting and administration;
โข Experience with database management and CRM systems;
โข Experience with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel and Outlook.
Key Competencies:
Required
โข Fluency in English and Danish;
โข Service minded with strong interpersonal skills as a team player and ability to manage relationships with suppliers, internal stakeholders and donors;
โข Experience with CRM, administration, finance and reporting and a genuine interest in further expanding and solidifying critical business tools and systems;
โข Strong excel skills and an analytical mindset;
โข Proven project management skills and high ability of being self-driven โ even under pressure;
โข Good communication skills;
โข Attention to details, high accuracy and results oriented.
Desirable
โข Previous experience working within UNHCR or another international organization;
โข Experience with Salesforce
โข Experience with Graphical Design
โข Basic knowledge of marketing/fundraising methods.
Location and Conditions
The successful candidate will work with the team in UN City in Copenhagen, Denmark.
This position is associated with a yearly contract, initially issued until the end of the year and with a possibility of extension on a yearly basis. It is currently a part-time role of 20 hours per week.
The salary is based on the local UN GS (General Staff) salary scale.
