NRC is looking for a Country Director to join the Iraq mission.

The role holder will be responsible for all NRC operations in Iraq, with a strong focus on steering the effective integration of strategic, programmatic, and operational management, in compliance with NRC’s mission.This position is based in Erbil, with frequent travel to Baghdad and NRC's area offices for various strategic and operational needs.

What You Will Do

Steer the development of initiatives aimed at contributing to durable solutions for the displaced. Contribute to the development and implementation of regional and country strategies. Promote an environment that is conducive to innovation and learning. Ensure that hiring and employee-related policies are fair, inclusive, and promote diversity. Engagement with NRCs key stakeholders in Iraq, aimed at strengthening NRC’s position, security, and continued acceptance at sub-national and national levels.

What You Will Bring

Minimum 5 years’ experience working as a senior Manager/ Country Director in a humanitarian/recovery context. Experienceworking in complex andvolatile contexts. Documented/proven results related to the position’sresponsibilities. Fluency in English, both written and verbal Knowledge of the context in the Middle East and in particular Iraq. Advocacy experience. Fluency in Arabic is a plus.
