Technical Advisors - Regional Resilience Activity for Sahel Region
FHI 360 is seeking technical advisors to support the USAID Regional Resilience Activity for the Sahel Region. A broad range of technical experts are being sought including in the following areas of expertise:

FHI360 is seeking qualified candidates for the anticipated USAID Leader with Associates (LWA) award for the Regional Resilience Activity for Sahel Region. The project will seek to expand resilience in the Sahel (including in Burkina Faso, Chad, Mauritania, and the Gambia) by improving the ability of individuals, households and communities to mitigate, adapt to, and recover from perennial shocks and stresses. Potential activities areas are expected to incorporate a number of sectors including livelihoods and economic well-being, health, family planning, nutrition, governance, and citizen participation (especially women and youth).
Availability of positions are contingent upon funding and approval of personnel.
Responsibilities:Provide technical leadership in a specific technical component.
Provide technical leadership in design, development, planning, implementation.
Provide capacity- building for specific technical components of projects.
Provide technical quality control for programming and deliverables within technical area of responsibility.
Support the exchange of information and learning across regional stakeholders and staff and partners.
Works with government and other implementing entities in ensuring alignment between technical approaches.
Contribute/Lead relevant technical discussions in relevant forums and discussions.
Serves as a technical representative to regional bodies and institutions, national government officials, and other participating organizations.
Provide appropriate levels of technical assistance for LWA activities; supports appropriate activity monitoring and reporting.
Qualifications:Masterโs Degree or its International Equivalent in international development, agriculture, economics, water resources and natural resource management, business, public health, nutrition, social sciences, or a related field.
Typically requires 8+ years of relevant experience in technical implementation of large projects and/or programs.
Experience working effectively in the Sahel region, and with demonstrated knowledge of operating environments and socioeconomic and political dynamics in the region.
Demonstrated capacity to build and maintain productive working relationships with a wide network of partners and stakeholders.
Experience with program design/implementation, and monitoring and evaluation, preferably for USAID projects.
Demonstrated leadership, planning, staff development, and capacity building experience.
Strong written and oral communication skills. Fluency in French is required and fluency in English is preferred.
Ability to travel locally and internationally as requested.
