Job Summary:

FHI 360 is recruiting a Project Director located in Bogota, Colombia, to lead the STRIDES and EpiC projects. This position is open to Colombian nationals.

STRengthening Infectious disease DEtection Systems (STRIDES) is the United States Governmentโ€™s flagship project for global health security. It aims to strengthen countriesโ€™ capacity across laboratory and surveillance systems to prevent, detect, and rapidly and effectively respond to emerging infectious diseases and other public health threats. STRIDES is a global mechanism, a contract with a five-year (2024โ€“2029) period of performance, led by FHI 360 as the prime, with core partners such as Black & Veatch focusing on biosecurity and biosafety and PATH on surveillance activities.

Meeting Targets and Maintaining Epidemic Control (EpiC) is an eight-year (2019โ€“2027) global health initiative project funded by Presidentโ€™s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR) and the United States Government (USG). EpiC has a global presence and extensive breadth and depth of technical experience. In FY26, EpiCโ€™s scope in Colombia will expand to include Maternal, Newborn & Child Health (MNCH).

The Project Director leads and directs implementation of the STRIDES and EpiC projects to enhance global health priorities in Colombia, which includes Global Health Security (GHS), Maternal, Neonatal, and Children Health (MNCH), and HIV activities. They will have technical and operations management responsibility for all activities, personnel, and budget/spending. The Project Director serves as the two projectsโ€™ primary liaison with Department of State counterparts at Post, local government, and other GHS and MNCH implementing partners working in country in addition to overseeing subcontractors/subgrantees operating in country. The Project Director will lead the development and implementation of annual work plans, monitoring and evaluation activities, technical and financial reporting, and other oversight responsibilities of the Activities.

Accountabilities:

  • Responsible for providing technical and managerial leadership to the implementation of the EpiC and STRIDES projects in Colombia and ensures compliance with applicable rules and regulations.

    • Plans, directs, and coordinates implementation of Activities to ensure that goals and objectives are accomplished within prescribed timeframes and funding parameters.

      • Defines, develops, implements, and monitors work plans, budgets, and SOPs to meet Activity goals and ensure compliance with policies and the respective implementing mechanism.

        • Directly manages technical, financial and operational staff responsible for all aspects
