Job Overview:

The Safe and Inclusive Programming Coordinator is responsible for the localization and coordinated continuation of Safe and Inclusive Programming regional and global tools and materials, its integration into NRC Iran systems, and capacity building of CCs and Support staff to ensure ownership of SIP by all the mission.ย

Generic Responsibilities:

Content localization and development: in coordination with the Core Competencies Specialists and the Regional SIP Advisor, the sector-specific Minimum Standards, sector-specific guidance (guidance materials, checklists), training materials, and user-friendly online repositories of NRC technical documents, to support the implementation of the Safe and Inclusive Programming approach.ย  Maintained SIP standards: In coordination and collaboration with the Regional Safe and Inclusive Programming Advisor, facilitate the roll-out of the Minimum Standards for Safe Programming, including tailored tools, training materials, CO self-assessments and action plans, and integration into routines and structures.ย  Institutionalization: responsible for integrating the Minimum Standards for Safe Programming into NRCโ€™s systems, documents, and routines in coordination with CC specialists, Support staff, and AO management.ย  Internal and external communication: responsible for ensuring that NRC is able to articulate to internal and external audiences what it is trying to achieve on Safe Programming and how the Minimum Standards relate to this. PCM: support the integration of SIP in the different steps of the PCM (project development, implementation, monitoring, reporting). Conceptualizing and testing: responsible for ensuring that the Minimum Standards are adequate; that they protect and are useful for the people we work for and at the same achievable for all our teams to implement consistently, identify new trends, best practices and lessons learned.ย  Documenting what works and sharing learning: in collaboration with the M&E team develop a sound M&E system that measures the success and progress of the roll-out of the Minimum Standardsย  Technical support: responsible for providing technical support and capacity building to NRC Iran teams (AO and CO) prior and during roll-out, and as needed.ย  Fostering a good working environment: responsible for fostering a good working environment related to the development and roll-out of Safe Programming. Technical support to UDOC and MPSCs: Regular interactions with the Protection Coordinator to ensure SOPs, guidelines, and activities are in compliance with SIP standards.ย

Support the implementation and monitoring of the SIP action plan with CO teams, and provide regular updates to CC/support teams. Support management in the development of structures for compliance checks, quality control and accountability (including corrective action). Coordinates the yearly SIP assessment and communicates results. Active engagement and communication with key stakeholders. Support and provide capacity building for SIP focal points. Support expansion of NRC SIP tools, materials, and practices to local partners to the extent possible. Support engagement of BAFIA to present, explain and promote NRC SIP policies and practices. Travel to area offices, MPSCs and field missions according to capacity building, assessment or monitoring needs.

Generic Professional Competencies:

Minimum 3 years of relevant experience within field of expertiseย  Strong knowledge of global protection (mainstreaming) standards and relevant bodies of international law (international human rights law, international humanitarian law, and refugee law).ย  Ability to provide leadership that creates engagement, buy-in and focuses on finding solutions.ย  Ability to carry out consultations across sectors, and develop strategy/plans that encompass program development, advocacy, communication, and structural changes.ย  Fluency in English, both written and verbal Context related skills, knowledge, and experience:ย  In-depth knowledge of the humanitarian architecture, key actors, and ongoing policy discussions related to protection.ย  Ability to conceptualize and explain complex technical issues used in the protection community to non-professionals.ย  Credibility and interpersonal skills required to provide leadership and support.
