The Protection Specialist position responsibilities include technical development of the Protection from Violence (PfV) Core Competency (CC), strategic direction and quality assurance, the PfV plan, and quality control. The protection specialist is in responsible for staff mentoring, training, and capacity development, as well as contributing actively in advocacy, program design, and proposal development for the CC's fundraising efforts. Furthermore, the protection Specialist co-leads Somalia's national Protection Cluster in collaboration with the lead agency, UNHCR. What you will do

Generic responsibilities:

  1. Adherence to NRC policies, guidance and proceduresย 
  2. Co-lead the national protection cluster coordination, ensure a coherent and effective emergency response by mobilizing groups of agencies, organizations and NGOs to respond in a strategic, timely and integrated manner to humanitarian crises in Somalia.
  3. Contribute to the development of Country, Area andย PfV strategies, initiate and participate in the development of relevantย Protection from Violence projects.
  4. Coordinate and manageย PfV Core Competency project implementation in line with proposals, strategies and donor requirements.
  5. Implement technical direction and ensure compliance with contractual commitments within PfV, ensure high technical quality and synergies in project implementation.
