Purpose of the Job:
The Protection officer โ caseworker will be responsible to identify cases, work closely with adults at high risk of harm and provide them case management services according to standardized procedures and protocols. The Protection officer - caseworker will work from case management office in the field and receive and visit cases referred to them, assess their needs and provide them with support as per the action plan developed, ensuring regular follow up. The officer will also be responsible to coordinate with service providers to ensure support the cases.ย The officer will be working closely with the protection coordinator โ case management supervisor.

Adherence to NRC policies, guidance and procedures Contribute to Protection strategy development, project proposals and provide input on needs and gaps Ensure that projects target beneficiaries most in need of protection, explore and asses new and better ways to assist. Promote and share ideas for improvement and necessary changes in the activities. Liaise and collaborate with relevant local authorities and other key stakeholders. Promote the rights of IDPs/returnees in line with the advocacy strategy. Consistently and proactively monitor/assess the safety and security in the field; promptly reporting concerns or incidents to the manager.ย Representation of NRC Protection in relevant meetings as delegated by supervisor/management.Specific responsibilities:
Provide case management services in line with the national standard operating procedures for case management and NRC internal guidelines. Identify cases of adults at high risk of harm and rights violations others than CP and GBV Assess the situation of the cases referred, if fit criteria, develop action plan and provide them with support ย Ensure that all high-risk cases are immediately taken care of andย reported to the direct line manager (Protection Coordinator โ caseworker supervisor); Conduct house visits, follow up, update and review case action plans. Maintain up to date documentation of case management files. Maintain regular communication with external referral agencies for service provisions. Remain abreast of developments in the field of service provisions this includes contributing to maintaining and updating service mapping and developing referral pathways. Participate actively in weekly and monthly case management team meeting. Collaborate closely with the rest of NRC protection team and with the others core competencies. At least two years of professional experience in the humanitarian sector with international organizations At least two-year experience implementing social work, protection individualised assistance preferably in humanitarian setting.ย Strong understanding of humanitarian response architecture, particularly in terms of emergency response and humanitarian protection Ability to write detailed case work in English. Technical diploma or degree in social work, human rights, or related degree preferred.
