The Academic Programs Team within the Global Connections Department at FHI 360 implements a portfolio of projects, including English Language Capacity Development, Scholarship Administration, Study Abroad in the United States, and Scholarship Recruitment. Projects are funded by the U.S. Department of State and coordinated through the Bureau of Near Eastern Affairs Office of Assistance Coordination, the Bureau of South and Central Asian Affairs (SCA) Office of Press and Public Diplomacy, as well as, the U.S. Embassies and Consulates, in Jordan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, and Pakistan. Our programming impacts the lives of young leaders from disadvantaged communities from throughout the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) and South and Central Asian regions. Our team prioritizes student centered teaching and learning, the development of cross-cultural competencies, including tolerance and inclusion of difference, and civic engagement with a focus on reflective, experiential learning.
The Program and Technical Assistant will provide day-to-day administrative, programmatic, and logistical support. They will work as part of a collaborative team that ensures outcomes and quality programs across multiple projects.
Eastern time zone working hours are required for this position.
Essential Job Functions:
Provide day to day administrative support for the academic program team that may include coordination of procurement and tracking expenses
Reviewing program reports, financial requests, and facilitating the payment process
Reviewing program proposals and assisting with the set-up of service agreements
Ensure integrity of project data though use of tracking tools and adherence to documentation protocols
Review program data and documentation in SharePoint, ensuring file management adheres to protocols
Coordinates and maintains records management and serve as a primary resource for assistance to the academic team
Assist with travel and other logistics for academic program exchanges, visits and staff travel as necessary
Other administrative duties as assigned.
Experience and Qualification:
Associateโs Degree or its International Equivalent in finance, education, TESOL, behavioral, life/social sciences, international development, human development, or related field
0-2 years of work experience; prior work experience in an office setting (including remote) is strongly preferred
Articulate, professional and able to communicate in a clear, positive manner with clients and staff
Prior finance experience, especially proficiency in Costpoint, is preferred but not required
Strong writing and editing skills in English
Ability to work well in a team and meet multiple deadlines
Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel
Prior experience in a non- governmental organization (NGO) preferred
This position has no supervisory responsibility but requires independent judgment to determine workflow and priorities

The expected US-Based hiring salary range for this role is listed below. Candidates FHI 360 pay ranges represent national averages that vary by geographic location. When determining an offer amount, FHI 360 factors in multiple considerations, including but not limited to: relevant years of experience and education possessed by the applicant, internal equity, business sector, and budget.
Base salary is only one component of our offer. FHI 360 contributes 12% of monthly base pay to a money purchase pension plan account. Additionally, all US based staff working full-time, which is calculated at 40 hours/week, receive 18 days of paid vacation per year, 12 sick days per year, and 11 holidays per year. Paid time off is reduced pro rata for employees working less than a full-time schedule.
US Based Hiring Salary Range: $38,000 - $56,000
International hiring ranges will differ based on location.
