UNOPS Ethiopia Multi-Country Office ETMCO is recruiting for this position: Procurement Intern based in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia

The internship is a learning and working opportunity that targets fresh and prospective graduates. The Procurement Intern will assist the Procurement Specialist and support the ETMCO team. The intern will be exposed to practical learning and working experiences that foster development of his /her path.
Functional Responsibilities
Reporting to the procurement specialist, the Procurement Intern will be responsible for the below listed tasks.
Assists in:
Specification revision, preparation of solicitation documents and evaluation of bids
Contract management and documentation
Logistics management & support
Facilitation of knowledge building and knowledge sharing
The Procurement Intern will have the opportunity to learn and work on how to:
Facilitate filing of contract documentation, and ensure completeness of files per their respective checklist
Assist in the preparation of reports, solicitation documents, and contracts
Assist in bid evaluation and price/quotations comparison analysis;
Assist in the receipt, verification, and acceptance of goods and services procured on behalf of partner organizations,
Assist in the collection of customs clearing, fund transfers, and permits review of payments and verify completeness of the documents and adherence to internal procedures,
Assist in the handover of procured items to partners
Assist in updating asset record and periodical verification; and
Perform other duties as assigned by the team.
Training components and learning elements
The intern will be exposed to practical learning with the supervision of a senior person in the team.
Participation in missions or training courses
The intern will take online courses available on the intranet and attend workshops related to the procurement field.
Education/Experience/Language requirementsEducation
To qualify, candidates must either be currently enrolled in a university degree program or have graduated within the last three years. Applicants should be studying or have studied preferably one of the following fields: Procurement, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related discipline. Work experience
Applicants are not required to have professional work experience.
Language
Fluency in written, reading and spoken English is required.
Knowledge of another UN official language is an asset.
Computer Literacy
Knowledge & usage of Google suite applications is an asset.

This internship is not designed to lead to a staff position with UNOPS. Therefore, there should be no expectation of employment at the end of the internship.
Interns may be eligible for a monthly stipend from UNOPS provided that they do not receive funds from other institutions. Further, UNOPS may provide a one time travel lumpsum of 500 USD. However, they must make their own arrangements for accommodation, travel and necessary visa arrangements.

Terms and Conditions
For staff positions only, UNOPS reserves the right to appoint a candidate at a lower level than the advertised level of the post.
For retainer contracts, you must complete a few mandatory courses ( they take around 4 hours to complete) in your own time, before providing services to UNOPS. Refreshers or new mandatory courses may be required during your contract. Please note that you will not receive any compensation for taking courses and refreshers.
