5 Steps to get a job in the United Nations

NORCAP aims at solving challenges in the humanitarian, development, and peacebuilding sectors to better protect vulnerable peopleโ€™s lives and rights. We build partnerships, promote more effective ways of working and provide skilled experts to strengthen capacity. NORCAPโ€™s mission is to improve aid to better protect and empower people affected by crisis and climate change. NORCAP is a part of the Norwegian Refugee Council.

For over a decade, NORCAP and the African Union have worked in partnership to strengthen the capacity of the continental organisation. The NORCAP-AU Programme has supported the AU Commission with both recruitment and secondment of high-level experts. This has strengthened the AUโ€™s capacity for policy development, peace support, mediation, advocacy, and democratic governance. A key principle of NORCAPโ€™s support is that the experts strengthen the organizationโ€™s ability to deliver on the objectives of the AU Agenda 2063 of peace, prosperity, and integration.

We are looking for someone with solid experience and understanding from working with capacity building, partnership development, and donor relations (in particular institutional donors such as the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO), and the European Union).

The Thematic Manager will work in the Section for Protection, Peace, and Democracy at NORCAPโ€™s Head Office in Oslo. The position is responsible for developing and delivering results within this thematic area, in accordance with the new NORCAP strategy 2022-2025.
