Organizational Setting
In the framework of the cooperation initiatives between the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) in Brazil and the Ministry of Social Development, Social Assistance, Family and Fight Against Hunger (MDS), represented by the National Secretariat for Food Security and Nutrition (SESAN) and the Extraordinary Secretariat to Combat Poverty and Hunger (SECF), both institutions have agreed on the elaboration and later implementation of a Technical Cooperation Project (PCT, in Portuguese) in the UTF modality (Unilateral Trust Fund), to be designed according to FAO's Handbook and the Brazilian Government's international technical cooperation norms.ย
Reporting Lines
The incumbent reports to the Assistant Representative in FAO Brazil โ Programme.
Technical Focus
The UTF to be designed aims to support the strengthening of the National Policy on Food Security and Nutrition (PNSAN) and policies, plans, and programs to combat hunger and promote healthy, resilient, inclusive, and sustainable food systems, through the provision of technical inputs, capacity building activities, analysis and generation of data and supporting the definition of indicators, among other actions.ย
Tasks and Responsibilities
โข ย ย Prepare the Project Concept Note, according to the template provided by FAO and incorporate comments made by FAO officers.
โข ย ย Elaborate the UTF Project Document (Prodoc) from the template provided by FAO, which includes the following attachments:ย
o ย ย Logical framework matrix;
o ย ย Stakeholder engagement matrix;
o ย ย Work plan/execution schedule;
o ย ย Project budget;
o ย ย Project risk mitigation plan.
โข ย ย Systematize inputs provided by MDS and identify the technical support needs to be met by the technical cooperation project.ย
โข ย ย Incorporate into the project document the adjustments requested by MDS, the Brazilian Cooperation Agency of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (ABC/MRE, in Portuguese), and FAO.
โข ย ย Travel, if necessary.

Minimum Requirements ย
โข ย ย Bachelorโs degree in human sciences or social sciences.
โข ย ย Professional with, at least, 5 (five) years of work experience in designing technical cooperation projects for international organizations, donors, and/or Brazilian public entities.
โข ย ย Working knowledge (level C) of English or Spanish and working knowledge of Portuguese.
โข ย ย Brazilian Nationality or resident of the country with valid work permit.
