Purpose of the role

The purpose of the Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) technical assistant position is to provide and support the programme teams to implement the projects efficiently and effectively. Within this context, the M&E Technical assistant will provide technical support to programmers under the supervision of the M&E coordinator. M&E Technical assistant will be reporting to M&E coordinator. The Position will be based in Mosul with traveling to Sinjar and Baโ€™aj.

What you will do

Adhere to NRC policies, tools, handbooks, and guidelines.Assist with the implementation of the M&E project portfolio according to plan of action.Implements independently procedures and activities within own function or core competency as delegated.Responsible for organizing and delivery of tasks in line with priorities and standards.Develop and maintain knowledge of the specialist area of work in which technical assistance and support is being provided, in order to be most effective in supporting the team.Use initiative in day-to-day problem solving in line with agreed procedures, priorities and standards for the area of work.Prepare and develop status reports as required by management.Ensure proper filing of documents.Promote and share ideas for improvement in your area of expertise.

Specifically, you will;

Responsible for managing, recording, sharing, following up and consolidating community feedback about NRCโ€™s interventions and ensuring community feedback is into the project cycle management.ย Conducting data collection from the field for Monitoring and Evaluation with beneficiariesโ€™ non-beneficiaries within the target communities.Ensure quality data collected from the field using pre-defined tools.Support the M&E coordinator with data analysis, in maintain the M&E databases updated.Conducting KIIs, FGDs and Surveys as requested.Carrying out PDMs, PIMs, Classroom observations and Outcome surveys.Conduct qualitative and quantitative field monitoring and verification of project implementation.Responsible for improving the Community Feedback Mechanism (CFM) in coordination with the M&E Officer/Coordinator.Ensure that all received complaints are registered and recorded in the complaint registration database according to the provided guidelines.ย Ensure that all complaints are managed, compiled and, if needed, forwarded to relevant staff member as per described instruction included in the complaint mechanism manual.Any other task relevant to the position as requested by M&E Coordinator.

ย Professional competencies

Experience and knowledge of principles and current approaches to monitoring and evaluation in relief and/or development programs, using both quantitative and qualitative methods.University bachelorโ€™s degree preferably.At least 2 years of experience in an international/local non-governmental organization (I/NGO) preferably in an emergency or post-conflict setting, including M&E capacity and systems development.Computer skills, including MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook), KOBO, Survey CTO.Fluency in Arabic, and good English - both written and verbal.
