We are looking for a motivated intern with an interest in sustainable transport policy. You should enjoy putting creative ideas into practice in an agile, fast and conscientious manner and work efficiently, solution-oriented and independently. The transport cluster advises partners in countries of the Global South on the development of national climate protection plans in transport, the development of decarbonisation strategies and instruments to increase energy efficiency in transport. The geographical focus is in Asia and on the African continent. Further areas of work include the set-up and management of networks of transport stakeholders, the regulation of informal transport services and transport electrification. In September, the Transport Cluster organises the annual Transport and Climate Change Week, which will bring about 120 decision-makers from 12 partner countries to Berlin. Research and expert evaluations, primarily in the fields of transport and climate, urban mobility, digitisation and open data Preparation and support of Transport Data Commons Initiative (www.transport-data.org) for which GIZ functions as an interim secretariate Support of activities and exchange formats (workshops, events) with African transport experts on leapfrogging to sustainable transport on the African continent Support of regional exchange formats, study trips and delegation visits from partner countries as part of the Transport and Climate Change Week Preparation of and support in the implementation of various events; preparation of presentations; preparation of content for events in partner countries Independent preparation of short technical articles for external communication (e.g. website, blogs, social media)โ€ข Supporting the project team with administrative tasks

Ihr Profil

You are studying or completed studies in the field of transport science (transport planning, transport engineering, transport geography), economics, environmental/climate sciences, political science/international relations (focus on climate policy), geography, urban/spatial planning, or a related field You also have an interest in development policy and a basic understanding of the challenges in the transport sector in emerging and developing countries, and/or knowledge of international climate policy and approaches to reducing greenhouse gas emissions in the transport sector You have very good written and spoken German and English language skills (additional Spanish or French would be an advantage). You have a good feeling for language and are adept at writing and editing texts Your approach to new tasks is characterised by an analytical and structured approach You have organisational skills and are happy to help prepare events and maintain contact with project partners You are familiar with the usual Office programmes (especially Word, PowerPoint and Excel)

Hinweise

Please be informed that you are only allowed to apply for this internship, if you are currently enrolled as a student or graduated not longer than six months ago from the start of your internship.

We pay a monthly stipend of โ‚ฌ2.064,- (gross). Depending on the country of assignment a monthly expatriation allowance (gross), predetermined by GIZ will be paid on top.
