Job description

The global project “Innovation Regions for a Just Energy Transition” contributes to a just transition of the energy sector in selected developing countries and emerging economies, with a focus on phasing out coal. The project supports key stakeholder in coal regions to develop and implement plans for a just energy transition, away from coal and towards renewable energy and other sustainable economic activities. In its global component, the project supports the establishment of an “Interregional Platform” for Just Energy Transition in Coal Region to facilitate peer-to-peer learning, capacity development, technical assistance, policy dialogue and knowledge exchange across coal regions in Asia, Africa and Latin America. The project is commissioned by the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action (International Climate Initiative), its global component receives co-funding by the European Commission. The project is implemented jointly with five other project partner organisations, in a consortium led by GIZ.

Your tasks

Support the planning and organisation of the IKI JET International Forum for Coal Regions in Transition Support the planning and organisation of a study tour with project stakeholders from target countries Actively contribute to the project’s internal and external communication and knowledge management Support in the design creation and updating of publications, presentations and promotional material Maintenance of the internet and intranet presence of the project Editorial activities for internal and external communication channels (e. g. LinkedIn, Website blogs, Newsletter) Support the day-to-day operations and project management of the project

Your profile

University studies, e. g., in the field of political, social, communication sciences or (environmental) journalism; graduation should not have been completed more than six months ago Excellent writing and communication skills in English and ability to work in an intercultural organization; in German, too, is an advantage Knowledge in design and publishing software such as Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign is an advantage Strategic and creative mindset Strong MS Office, organizational and analytical skills Ability to work independently, result-oriented, and to quickly adapt to new tasks and contexts Perfect command of English language. Knowledge of German, Spanish and/or Bahasa are a plus

We pay a monthly stipend of €2.134,52 (gross).
