The internship focuses on support to the openIMIS initiative (www.openIMIS.org) within the global programme Global Alliances for Social Protection. openIMIS is an interoperable, versatile open-source software which supports the administration of health financing and social protection schemes. It is designed to manage the complex, high-volume data flows which are required to operate such schemes by seamlessly integrating beneficiary, provider and payer data. More than 10 million people in 7 countries benefit from health insurance, employment injury insurance, cash transfer and voucher schemes managed using openIMIS.
The openIMIS Initiative supports users, implementers and developers and co-ordinates community of practice. It aims at promoting the use of the software as well as the continuous development and further integration with other digital systems in health and social protection. Feasibility assessments of new implementations are also an essential service of the Coordination Desk. The work is currently being co-funded by the Swiss Development Cooperation.

During your internship, your tasks will include:

Studies from the fourth semester in the field of informatics with an optional specialization in health or social protection. Other curricula will also be considered in combination with explicit software development experiences Demonstrated interest in the use and promotion of open-source software and technologies Affinity for digital tools of virtual collaboration, knowledge in conception and implementation of digital campaigns advantageous Experience with the openIMIS software development frameworks advantageous Experience in networking/community and event management advantageous (on/offline) Efficient and well-structured way of working, high level of comprehension Commitment, team spirit, initiative and creativity Very good knowledge of the common MS Office applications Very good knowledge of written and spoken German and English (English is the team language), knowledge of French would be an advantageNotes

We pay a monthly stipend of âŹ2.064,- (gross).
