The ICR Facility (www.icr-facility.eu) supports governments, public agencies and private sector representative bodies in African, Caribbean and Pacific (ACP) countries to improve their business environment, so that everybody, especially women, can thrive as workers, entrepreneurs and investors. The project works under three different areas:
1. Demand-based assistance for business environment reform and Womenยดs Economic Empowerment (WEE)
2. Capacity development for Development Finance Institutions
3. Creation of knowledge sharing and learning
The project is jointly funded by the European Union (EU), the Organisation of African, Caribbean and Pacific States (OACPS), together with the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) and the British Council. It is implemented by a team of experts from GIZ, the British Council, Expertise France, and Stichting Nederlandse Ontwikkelingsorganisatie (Netherlands Development Organisation, SNV), primarily based in Brussels.
We are looking for a curious, dynamic and well-organised team player with an eye for detail. You will be supporting the organisation of a Conference on Womenโs Economic Empowerment (WEE) and Business Environment Reforms, which will take place in June 2024 in Kigali, Rwanda. You will be also able to support our knowledge management and monitoring efforts, and work with the technical experts to collect and document the immediate and long-term results of our interventions and share lessons learned with partners across the ACP region.
The internship will be contracted under Belgian law.
Your tasks
During your internship you will gain insights into the daily operations of the team. You will get to know the tasks and processes of the Project Management Unit and work on various topics on your own initiative and under supervision. The exact professional profile will be determined against the background of the distribution of work in the team and the profile of the successful applicant. We welcome a certain degree of professional flexibility.
In detail, the position includes the following tasks:
Your profile
You can demonstrate a keen interest in your studies in communications, event management, or political and social studies, or have completed them within the last six months. First experience in event management is considered an advantage Analytical thinking, detail-oriented, well-organised Flexibility and ability to work both autonomously and in a team Ability to manage multiple parallel projects while respecting strict deadlines Strong intercultural communication skills with capabilities to easily engage with both project team members and with external stakeholders Ability to handle the accompanying administrative workload for organising and coordinating different events, including in non-European countries You are fluent in English; French and/or German would be a particular asset Very good MS Office skills (Excel, Word, Power Point, Outlook); good command of other tools for event management/communication would be an asset An interest or experience in the domain of international development cooperation would be an asset but is not a prerequisiteNotes

We pay a monthly stipend of โฌ 1.350,- (gross). Please note that the contract will be concluded under Belgian law.
