GIZ is looking forward to welcoming you in our IGEF Support Office in New Delhi, India. Our daily business is to enhance the Indo-German cooperation in the energy field. India has set very ambitious targets including increasing the renewables capacity to 500GW by 2030, and thereby meeting 50% of its energy requirement from renewables. Accordingly, there is a lot to do for us. We organize business and capacity building delegations to Germany and India, support our partners in setting up workshops, organize working group meetings, conduct studies, support pilot projects and are actively present at many conferences of the energy sector in Germany and India.Project Background:To enhance and deepen the dialogue about relevant energy issues, the German Chancellor and the Indian Prime Minister established the Indo-German Energy Forum (IGEF) in 2006. IGEF aims at initiating strategic cooperation projects between German and Indian governments, institutions and the private sector with focus on the market for energy efficiency and renewable energy. One innovative concept towards achieving Indiaโ€™s target for renewable energy is Agrivoltaics. GIZ India and IGEF support the development of enabling policies, promotion of research and knowledge management and implementation of pilot projects and capacity building activities for Agrivoltaics in India.As an intern you will work for the Support Office (SO), which has been established to provide liaison services for all stakeholders identifying possible topics for the IGEF dialogue and supporting the private sector engagement. It serves as a first point of contact for both the Indian and German governments as well as for the companies seeking to get involved in the process.โ€ข Providing a platform for regular political dialogue meetingsโ€ข Cooperation through specific activities such as trainings, study tours, studies, pilots, workshops and conferencesโ€ข Private Sector Cooperation

As an Intern you will support IGEF across its activities in various fields. A focus of the internship will be supporting and coordinating IGEFs efforts in the context of Agriphotovoltaics. Generally, task will include:

Communication with project partners in India and Germany Assist in implementing project activities by conducting background research and providing inputs to reports, briefings and background papers Initiating research projects with external partners (including development of Terms of Reference) Project management in research projects Support in dissemination of information, including contribution to the IGEF newsletter, drafting news items and press releases for events and activities, as well as updating the IGEF website Assist the Director of IGEF in planning and organizing events Support the team in the implementation of a research / capacity building strategy for the project

Ihr Profil

Master / Diploma student of: Energy Engineering / Environmental Sciences / Economics / Political Science / Project-Management or related areas; (graduation should not have been completed more than six months ago) Perfect command of German and English language Strong communication skills and ability to work in an intercultural organisation Good research and writing / editing skills Good MS-Office skills Strong organisational skills Knowledge about solar or agricultural aspects is an advantage First long-term experience in GIZ partner countries is an advantage Professional experience related to energy or project / event management is preferred

Hinweise

Please be informed that you are only allowed to apply for this internship, if you are currently enrolled as a student or graduated not longer than six months ago from the start of your internship.

We pay a monthly stipend of โ‚ฌ2.064,- (gross). Depending on the country of assignment a monthly expatriation allowance (gross), predetermined by GIZ will be paid on top.
