Overview:
The Social Development Programme Unit (SDPU) of UNITAR provides training to local actors to enhance their capacity to achieve sustainable development in their areas of influence, with a particular focus on the Sustainable Development Goals and Agenda 2030. At the core of the training activities are workshops and seminars, many of which are implemented through a network of sixteen regional training centres for local authorities and leaders โ the CIFAL Global Network โ as well as e-learning courses. In addition, there are training activities directly implemented by the SDPU team in Geneva.
General Objectives of the Contract:
Under the direct supervision of the Specialist, the individual contractor shall undertake tasks related to content development, planning of capacity building events (online and offline), and further enhancement of the Programme Unitโs thematic expertise. This includes the provision of assistance in designing and/or rolling-out both face-to-face and online training activities, as well as organizing knowledge-sharing events.
Responsibilities/Description of Professional Services:
Coordination
Support overall coordination of project resources Support project implementation plan based on the project document of the Global Breastfeeding Education Initiative Liaise with UNITAR staff as necessary (admin, procurement, finance) Proactively maintain communication with the Global Breastfeeding Education Initiative partnersContent development
Contribute to develop content materials for e-learning and microlearning courses on breastfeeding Design and implement capacity building events and workshops, both online and face to face, on Maternal and Infant HealthCommunications
Assist in the development a communications plan for the project (digital or via other means) In coordination with SDP communications focal point, lead the implementation of the communications planMonitoring & reporting
Continuously monitor project progress against established milestones and deliverables Compile necessary information for status reports, internal briefings as necessary Support the development of the project report as required Measurable outputs/deliverables: Effective support coordinating the main activities of the Global Breastfeeding Education Initiative as listed above E-learning courses on breastfeeding are enhanced and delivered as appropriate. Satisfactory support in communicating about the Global Breastfeeding Education Initiative Performance Indicators for evaluation of results: Adequate development, organization and coordination of e-learning courses Successful development of training materials on breastfeeding Successful development and implementation of a communications plan Reporting structure:The individual contractor will report to the Specialist, Social Development Programme Unit, Division for People
